Jonathan Whitton (Bistro & MAC Award Winner, HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH) continues his critically lauded concert residency with guitarist Aaron Jones at Don't Tell Mama. BLACK SHEEP CARNIVAL. BLACK SHEEP CARNVAL will play the Brick Room at Don't Tell Mama every first Monday through 2013 with dates scheduled for Monday, July 8, August 5,September 2, October 7, November 4, & December 2. All performances are at 7:30PM. Tickets are $10 plus a two-drink minimum.

Victor Maog, Artistic Director of Second Generation (2g), a theatre company that puts Asian-American stories on the world stage, announced today that over 30 multi-ethnic artists will be featured in 2G: SIXTEEN GOING ON SEVENTEEN, which will play Joe's Pub, 425 Lafayette Street, tonight, June 24, at 7pm. The event celebrates SECOND GENERATION (2g)'s 2012-13 season and introduces its commissioned writers.

Otis Sallid & Aaron Jones to Pen New PIED PIPER Musical for Waterwell's Summer Theater Lab

Waterwell announces that Smokey Joe's Cafe conceiver, director-choreographer Otis Sallid, and musician Aaron Jones will create a new musical based on The Pied Piper for their summer program. They join the previously announced Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"), Bobby Cannavale("Boardwalk Empire"), Stephen Adly Guirgis (Tony Nominee, The Mother****** with the Hat), Megan Hilty ("Smash"), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) and Beau Willimon ("House of Cards") who serve as Master Class Artists for the company's inaugural Summer Theater Lab. Casey McClellen and Kyle Pleasant also join the faculty.

Ravinia Celebrates Audience with Customer Appreciation Day Today

Ravinia kicks off the summer with Customer Appreciation Day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, May 18, a day filled with discounts and the chance to purchase limited added Pavilion side seating to sold-out concerts, as well as promotions and samples from Ravinia's supporters and sponsored advertisers. This is the first day that Ravinia's Box Office is officially open for walk-up sales, and all in-person purchases will be discounted by 20 percent (discounts are not available for the July 27 Gala Benefit Evening), making reserved seats for some shows as low as $8. The $7 service fee for ticket orders will also be waived for in-person purchases today, May 18. Gates open at 8 a.m. but the Ravinia Box Office opens at 9 a.m.

After spray-tanning away their Chicago winter complexions, the cast of NPR's "Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me!" is ready for its close-up with comedy's "Wild and Crazy Guy." The public radio sensation announced today that comedian Steve Martin and musical guest Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings will join host Peter Sagal and official judge and scorekeeper Carl Kasell on Thursday, May 2 in the show's big screen debut of "Wait Wait… Don't Tell Me! - Live."

Working Theater, the 28-year-old Off-Broadway company, in collaboration with Magnum Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the Magnum Photos legacy and supporting photography around social justice issues, have joined forces to present Ed Cardona, Jr.'s LA RUTA, a world premiere immigration-themed play that will be staged inside the trailer and cab of an actual 48' truck. An accompanying photographic installation about the immigrant experience will also be presented.

Joe's Pub Announces GREAT GOOGAMOOGA 2013 in Prospect Park, 5/17-19

Joe's Pub at The Public Theater has confirmed eight bands for the Joe's Pub Stage at the just-announced and second annual Great GoogaMooga. The three-day outdoor food, drink and music festival is produced by Superfly Presents and will take place Friday, May 17 through Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Brooklyn's Prospect Park. The Joe's Pub Stage will host eight performances on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19.

Working Theatre Presents LA RUTA, Beginning 4/10

Working Theater, the 28-year-old Off-Broadway company, in collaboration with Magnum Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the Magnum Photos legacy and supporting photography around social justice issues, have joined forces to present Ed Cardona, Jr.'s LA RUTA, a world premiere immigration-themed play that will be staged inside the trailer and cab of an actual 48' truck. An accompanying photographic installation about the immigrant experience will also be presented. This unique collaboration will shed a deeper light on one of today's hot-button issues - immigration reform. Previews begin April 10, 2013 with an official press opening on April 18th. Tamilla Woodard, known for her innovative site-specific work (HOTEL PROJECT), will direct the production. The play will be performed in various communities throughout New York City in order to directly realize Working Theater's mission to bring theater to working people.
