The New York Times is reporting that Fela!, Bill T. Jones' electric and emotional musical about Nigerian political activist and Afrobeat creator Fela Kuti, is coming to Broadway to the Eugene O'Neill theatre with previews to begin October 19th and an opening night for September 23rd.

A regular performer at Joe's Pub, Mr. Poling is the founder of the seminal 80's punk/pop The Suburbs and composer of Tony Award-winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune's award-winning 'Children Of Paradise' among other shows.
Nominations for the 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards were announced this morning at the New York Friars Club by Faith Prince and Jim Dale, multi-award winning stage stars. They were joined for the announcement by William Wolf, Drama Desk President, Barbara Siegel, Chairperson of the Drama Desk Nominating Committee, Robert R. The Artistic Home's 2008/2009 season continues its exploration of the artist in society with the rarely produced Modigliani by Dennis McIntyre. The second production in Artistic Home's Mainstage series, Modigliani will be directed by Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra and will feature Artistic Home co-founder and Associate Director, John Mossman in the title role. Sundance Institute announced today the lineup of films selected to screen in the U.S. and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary Competitions for the 25th Sundance Film Festival. In addition to the four Competition categories, the Festival presents films in five out-of-competition sections to be announced tomorrow.
