Ron Holgate, Kevin Early, Laila Robins and More Set for Amas' CASANOVA Reading, 2/6

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Artistic Producer) will present three staged readings of "Casanova", a new musical with music by Martin Sylvestri, book and lyrics by Joel Higgins, directed by Gabriel Barre. The readings will take place on Wednesday, February 6th at 6:00pm, and Thursday, February 7th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street.

Ron Holgate and Roger Robinson Set for CEASEFIRE Reading at Berkshire Playwrights Lab, 8/22

Berkshire Playwrights Lab will present a staged reading of James DeMarse's new play, Ceasefire, on Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30pm at the Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center (14 Castle Street, Great Barrington, Mass.). Directed by Joe Cacaci, the production will feature Tony Award-winning actors Ron Holgate and Roger Robinson, along with Kofi Boakye, Mickey Solis, and two actors to be announced. There is no charge for admission, however, Berkshire Playwrights Lab suggests a $10.00 donation to help offset its programming costs. The Old Globe is presenting the West Coast Premiere of The Scottsboro Boys, the critically acclaimed musical about an infamous chapter in American history. Philadelphia Theatre Company officially opened THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS last night, January 25, 2012, running through February 19 at PTC's home in the Suzanne Roberts Theatre. Previews began January 20, 2012. This is the first regional production of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS since its run on Broadway last season.

York Theatre Company to Present IONESCOPADE, Beginning 1/23

The award-winning York Theatre Company (James Morgan- Producing Artistic Director) will present a new production of the rarely performed Ionescopade, a 'musical vaudeville,' the first in an exciting roster of works for the York's 2012 Season. Ionescopade, taken from the works of Eugene Ionesco, features music and lyrics by Mildred Kayden and was originally conceived by Robert Allan Ackerman. Ionescopade will begin performances January 23, 2012, with an official opening night set for February 2 at The York Theatre at Saint Peter's on 54th St, just east of Lexington Avenue.

York Theater Co To Give Away Tix To Ionescopade 12/19

York Theatre Company announced today that on Monday, December 19, 2011, they will be offering one free ticket to the first performance of Ionescopade, a "musical vaudeville" (7:00 p.m. on January 23) to the first 100 people who donate a toy to Toys for Tots at the theatre that day.
