Ted Rosenthal may probably be able to play Gershwin's music with more accuracy than the composer did. However, I'm sure George Gershwin would never be able to accompany Ann as good as Ted Rosenthal does.

HAZEL, an NBC comedy which aired from 1961 - 1966 and followed a live-in maid who lovingly wreaked havoc on the home of the Baxter family, is now a Broadway-bound musical.

Wetrock Entertainment presented performer/writer/jazz vocalist Andrea Frierson in 'me & ella,' at 54 Below last night. "me & ella," is a musical journey back to the beginnings of a young singer enamored with Ella Fitzgerald, set against a backdrop of New York City in the 1960's. Part memory play and part tribute, 'me & ella' is both a singer's coming of age story, as well as a valentine to the First Lady of Song. Written and performed by Ms. Frierson with musical arrangements and musical supervision by Ron Abel and direction by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel, 'me & ella'

Stage and screen star Lucie Arnaz will direct a reading of Hazel: A Musical Maid in America, a new musical composed by Ron Abel with lyrics by Chuck Steffan, and book by Lissa Levin, Edward Kleban Award-winning playwright and Emmy Award-nominated producer. The special two-day event will take place today, October 23rd and tomorrow the 24th at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Company in New York City. Klea Blackhurst will play the title role.

Hazel - the saucy maid whose wry attitude, infallible wisdom and heart of gold has captured the hearts of millions for more than 60 years - will soon get a New York City reading, directed by stage and screen star Lucie Arnaz. The special event will take place on October 23 and 24 at the June Havoc Theatre.
