Jazz Vocalist Dianne Reeves Returning to Carnegie Hall, 3/30

On Wednesday, March 30 at 8:00 p.m., critically acclaimed jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, performing alongside longtime collaborators Peter Martin (piano), Romero Lubambo (guitar), Reginald Veal (bass), and Terreon Gully (drums). Reeves's most recent appearances at Carnegie Hall include participating in the 2011 gala created by James Taylor to celebrate the Hall's 120th anniversary, and her own sold out headline performance in 2013.

Guitarist Sharon Isbin to Appear at Carnegie Hall in November

GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin will appear at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium on Wednesday, November 4 at 7pm with Sting, Katy Perry and Jerry Seinfeld for the Change Begins Within concert which will also include performances by Jim James and Angelique Kidjo. Proceeds from the event will aid the foundation's Meditate New York initiative, which provides transcendental meditation training to 10,000 at-risk New Yorkers for free. Director, screenwriter, and artist David Lynch and George Stephanopoulos of ABC News will serve as the evening's hosts. Trio da Paz returns to the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival on Sunday, August 17 at 7:30 pm. With three of Brazil's most in-demand musicians, Trio da Paz updates and redefines Brazilian jazz with their harmonically adventurous interactions, daring improvisations and dazzling rhythms. Trio da Paz was formed in 1990 by guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta, and drummer Duduka da Fonseca, all seasoned masters of both jazz and Brazilian music.

On December 10, 2013 Diane Schuur turned 60. She also completed her first-ever recording in homage to her two most important and influential mentors: Stan Getz (who discovered her at the Monterey Jazz Festival in 1979) and Frank Sinatra, whose artwork hangs prominently in her Palm Springs home. Entitled I Remember You (With Love to Stan and Frank), the album of twelve songs, all previously recorded by Getz or Sinatra, or both, was produced by Diane and her new manager, Mary Ann Topper, at Avatar Studios in New York, and is set for release on Jazzheads, June 10, 2014. It also features a stellar cast of musicians, including: Alan Broadbent (arrangements/piano), Roni Ben-Hur and Romero Lubambo (guitars), Joel Frahm (saxophone) , Ben Wolfe (bass) and Ulysses Owens Jr. on drums.

On Saturday, April 5 at 9:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall, guitarist Romero Lubambo, bassist Nilson Matta, and drummer Duduka da Fonseca-the three renowned Brazilian musicians that make up Trio da Paz-perform a program featuring the works of famed Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim and celebrated American tenor saxophonist Stan Getz. The trio, known for its innovative take on Brazilian jazz, is joined for this program by tenor saxophonist Harry Allen, vibraphonist Joe Locke, and vocalist Maucha Adnet. This concert is presented by Carnegie Hall in partnership with Absolutely Live Entertainment LLC.

On Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at 8PM, GRAMMY Award-winning guitarist Sharon Isbin returns to the 92nd St. Y for a solo recital. The concert celebrates her 35th anniversary of her New York Debut (at Alice Tully Hall in 1979), the 25th anniversary of The Juilliard School guitar department (which Sharon Isbin created in 1989, the first in the institution's 100-year history), and honors the 100th birthday on this date of her mentor Rosalyn Tureck, as well as the centenary of Benjamin Britten.
