AMC Studios announced today that it has entered into separate exclusive, multi-year overall deals with Rolin Jones (Friday Night Lights, Weeds), Gina Mingacci (Killing Eve, Orphan Black) and Ray McKinnon (Rectify, Deadwood) to develop and produce new series for AMC Networks' Entertainment Group as well as other content companies. The deals expand AMC Networks' ongoing or previous creative partnerships with Jones, Mingacci and McKinnon.

South Coast Repertory Artistic Director David Ivers and Managing Director Paula Tomei today announced the lineup for the 2020 Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF). The annual showcase of new works, part of the theatre's new-play development arm, The Lab@SCR, includes two world-premiere productionsa?"The Scarlet Letter by Kate Hamill and I Get Restless by Caroline V. Lovers of new theatre will gather this August for an advance look at tomorrow's hits at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley's 2019 New Works Festival at Palo Alto's Lucie Stern Theatre. John Lithgow is set to star opposite Matthew Rhys and Tatiana Maslany in HBO's Perry Mason limited series from Team Downey, according to Deadline.

The annual showcase of new works kicks off on April 26 with a concert reading of a new musical adaptation of Prelude to a Kiss, directed by Ivers in his directorial debut as SCR's artistic director.

Matthew Rhys will star in the title role of the HBO limited series Perry Mason from Team Downey, according to Deadline. The reboot will track the unorthodox investigator/defense attorney's origin story. The limited series is currently in the process of hiring a director.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the full company for the world premiere of Kenneth Lin's timely cautionary tale of capitalism run amok, Kleptocracy. Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

FringeNYC, the adjudicated portion of the new NEW YORK INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL, begins performances tomorrow, October 12, 2018. The festival will offer 80 fully staged theater and dance productions at 10 venues in Manhattan;s West Village all centered around a new FringeHUB.
