Tennessee Repertory Theatre will partner with The Acorn restaurant and Nashville Scene for a special event to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. The evening-titled 'Nashville Scenes'-- will feature staged readings of scenes from Tennessee Rep's 2009-2010 season and hot hors d'oeuvres and will be held Wednesday, July 29 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at The Acorn (114 28th Avenue North).

Originally making his mark in the county music world and then slipping into the Latin and jazz arenas via rock & roll, Raul Malo has proven to be an ever-expanding musical talent. As front man for The Mavericks from 1989 - 2001, Malo picked up a 1996 Grammy award and multiple Country Music Association awards. He released his first solo album, Today, in 2001.

SWINGSTEP was nominated for the Best Musical award in Canada, (comparable to the Tony awards in America.) Swindley also directed THE HONKY TONK ANGELS and STEP INTO MY PARLOR at the Picolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC.

Author Ellis Nassour hosted an event to celebrate his book, Honky Tonk Angel: The Intimate Story of Patsy Cline, updated edition (Chicago Review Press, 2008), and to honor the birthday and life of a country music legend. The event took place on Monday, September 8, 2008 at Barnes & Noble (Lincoln Square, 972 Broadway, New York, NY 10023).
