The third edition of Art Southampton, the leading international contemporary and modern art fair for acquiring investment quality works of art opened last night with huge success, where top collectors, curators, art advisors and influencers kicked off the weekend-long event. Taking place on the 18-acre estate behind the Southampton Elks Lodge, the Platinum VIP saw over 1,500 top collectors of the East End, and throughout the elegant evening, attendance exceeded last year's VIP Preview of 4,200 guests. For the sixth consecutive summer, the Garden of Dreams Foundation will host Dream Week , its week-long summer experience for 40 children (10-12 years old) from the Police Athletic League, one of its 22 partner organizations. The children will enjoy one-of-a-kind activities planned by the New York Knicks, Rangers, Liberty, MSG Networks, MSG Sports Properties and MSG Entertainment at various locations throughout the tri-state area including, but not limited to, Madison Square Garden, the MSG Training Center, Radio City Music Hall, MetLife Stadium and Stadium Tennis Center at Mill Pond Park.

The Sunshine Committee of the Friars Club hosted a Holiday Party and special film screening of Sony Pictures Animation's 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2' at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City. For over twenty-five years, the Friars Club Sunshine Committee, which is funded through an annual holiday raffle held at the club, has been providing entertainment, companionship and tons of love to senior citizens, musicians, comedians or performance artists to brighten up the residents of nursing homes, or providing clowns, magicians and entertainment for disadvantaged children in group homes, the Sunshine Committee is dedicated to enhancing each and every life they touch. Held last night at the Waldorf Astoria New York, the event raised more than $6 million - the highest amount raised at a gala in the organization's history. For the third consecutive year, ABC news anchor, author and talk show host Barbara Walters served as master of ceremonies at the gala, while the event honored Macy's Inc.'s Chief Merchandising Officer Jeff Gennette, Diana DiMenna, noted philanthropist and her husband Joseph DiMenna, managing director of Zweig-DiMenna Associates Inc.
Yesterday, the Garden of Dreams Foundation and the New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital unveiled the refurbishments in the Children's Diagnostic Radiology Center made possible by a grant from Garden of Dreams. The Watermill Center held its annual summer benefit on Saturday, July 28th. Despite a downpour of rain, the spectacular event went on as planned with performance art and installations. Watermill International Summer Program Participants from over 25 countries created eight acres of installations and performances throughout the grounds of Watermill Center. The funds raised will support The Watermill Center's International Summer Program and year round Artist Residency Program, providing a unique environment for young and emerging artists to explore and develop their work.

A kick-off party for ARTrageous was held at the Harmonie Club on Monday hosted by Stewart F. Lane & Bonnie Comley, and Linda Argila with special guest speaker, Robert Wilson. ARTraegous is a unique fundraising event benefiting foster children through art. Kids residing in foster care and a kids committee collaborate with a dynamic group of artists to help create artwork for auction. The artwork created, along with donated works of art and luxury items will be sold in a silent and live auction at the ARTrageous Gala Dinner and Art Auction.
