MARK MY WORDS 2014: A WICKED COOL EVENING, on Tuesday, October 21 at 8:00 p.m., is a once-in-a-lifetime event - a conversation between the creators of the book and Broadway smash Wicked. Gregory Maguire wrote the original novel Wicked - The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. Stephen Schwartz, legendary composer and lyricist of Pippin and Godspell, adapted Maguire's twisted take on L. Frank Baum's universe into one of the most successful musicals in history. Moderated by Connecticut theater legend Frank Rizzo, this is a unique opportunity to hear these creators talk about writing, music, theatre and, of course, the Wonderful World of Oz.

After a successful inaugural season, The Rainbow Theatre Project has announced their second season of three evenings of staged readings, two fully-staged productions, a co-production and a cabaret that highlight, reflect and embrace the LGBTQ experience. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the details for Fassbinder: Romantic Anarchist (Part 1), May 16 - June 1. Divided into two parts, the retrospective will be the most extensive presentation of Fassbinder's films in New York since 1997, with Part 1 including almost all of his work leading up to 1974 and Part 2 (screening in November) to pick up from 1974 through 1982. The ambitious two-part series will include all of his theatrical features, much of his television work, films he starred in, films that influenced him, and films that were influenced by his work.

On Friday, November 1, at 7:30 p.m., the Northeast Film Premiere of the comedy Hidden Hills, a comedy, starring Ted Trent and Tim O'Leary, will take place at The Ridgefield Playhouse, tackling the issues of race, sexuality, aging and weight while flipping the world upside down in a 72-minute feature film that mimics the classic styling of Rock Hudson and Doris Day movies. Up-and-coming Hollywood talent are featured in this innovative film event including Joy Sudduth (Criminal Minds), Wendy Shapero (Robot Chicken) and Chris Fennessy (Zoey 101) with a performance of an original song by Jane Wiedlin of The Go-Go's.
