Transport Group Sets THREE DAYS TO SEE Special Events

Transport Group's current production, Three Days to See, an intimate portrait of Helen Keller, will offer a number of events surrounding the disabled community. Included is an audio described performance on July 29 for the visually impaired, an open captioned performance for the hearing impaired on August 5, and talkbacks with author Dr. Beth A. Haller (July 31) and Maricar Marquez of the Helen Keller National Center (August 4).

Transport Group to Present Helen Keller-Inspired THREE DAYS TO SEE

Transport Group, the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and OBIE Award-winning theatre company, has announced its 2015 summer production Three Days To See, a performance piece conceived and directed by Jack Cummings III, slated to run July 12 - August 16 at Theatre 79. The cast includes Ito Aghayere (Orange is the New Black, The Liquid Plain), Patrick Boll (Mamma Mia, All the Way Home), Marc De La Cruz (If/Then, Allegiance), Theresa McCarthy (Queen of the Mist, Floyd Collins), Chinaza Uche (Bintou, The Day On Which a Man Dies), Barbara Walsh (Company, Falsettos), and Zoe Wilson. Transport Group's 2015 season will also include the previously announced revival of Once Upon a Mattress starring John 'Lypsinka' Epperson and Jackie Hoffman, slated for the fall. The previously announced musical, The Blonde Streak, has been postponed due to scheduling conflicts.

Transport Group, the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and OBIE Award-winning theatre company, has announced that its 2015 season will include the world premiere musical The Blonde Streak by Dan Lipton and David Rossmer, slated to run July 5 - August 16 at Theatre 79, and a revival of the classic musical Once Upon a Mattress, starring Jackie Hoffman as Princess Winnifred and John 'Lypsinka' Epperson as Queen Aggravain, running November 29 - January 3, 2016 at Abrons Arts Center. Both musicals will be directed by Jack Cummings III.

Transport Group, the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and OBIE Award-winning theatre company, has announced its annual gala Gimme a Break!, will honor Tony Award-winning producer Barbara Whitman on December 8, 2014 at 6pm at the Asia Society and Museum, 725 Park Avenue at 70 Street.

THE PEER GYNT PROJECT is a U.S./U.K./Norway multi-media theater collaboration conceived by Caroline von Kuhn and co-created by Jennifer Gibbs, John Gould Rubin and Ms. von Kuhn, Produced by Robyn Hussa and starring Neil Hancock - a wheelchair-using actor who has Cerebral Palsy. The company is re-telling the epic story of Ibsen's Peer Gynt by injecting accounts of own contemporary struggles into the narrative.

Normal in Schools Debuts Online Educational Film 2/20

NORMAL in Schools (NIS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to education about eating disorders (ED), self esteem and wellness, launched today an online educational film to coincide with national Eating Disorders Awareness Week (February 20-26, 2011).

Transport Group Presents 'Normal,' Begins Performances October 20

Transport Group artistic directors Robyn Hussa and Jack Cummings III have announced that the world premiere of a new American musical, Normal, with book by Yvonne Adrian, lyrics by Cheryl Stern, and music by Tom Kochan, will begin performances on Thursday, October 20 at 8pm at the Connelly Theatre, 220 East 4 Street.

Audra McDonald to Appear in First Lady Suite by Michael John LaChiusa May 2-3

Broadway and TV actress Audra McDonald will star in a special two performance concert of the Transport Group's Drama Desk nominated production of the OBIE award-winning musical First Lady Suite by Michael John LaChiusa, Tony Award nominated composer-lyricist ('Marie Christine' and 'The Wild Party') on Monday, May 2nd & Tuesday, May 3rd, 7:00 p.m. at the New-York Historical Society, 170 Central Park West at 77th Street.
