Three years ago SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark played its first performance on Broadway -- an evening that is now the stuff of Broadway lore. In the ensuing years, the production has made an unprecedented glowing impact on New York City and the theater world.

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK Teams with Givenik to Participate in New York Cares Annual Coat Drive

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will partner with Givenik.com to participate in New York Cares Annual Coat Drive. When patrons purchase tickets to the high-flying Broadway spectacular through Givenik.com during the months of November and December, 5% of the total sale will be donated to New York Cares. Additionally, the Foxwoods Theatre will serve as a New York Cares Coat Drive public collection site. Now through December 31, 2013 patrons are encouraged to drop off coats outside the box office at 213 West 42ndStreet between 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and during show hours on performance days.

Update: SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK Sets Jan. 4, 2014 Closing Date

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, the Broadway spectacular that defied odds and expectations to conquer New York, is moving to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world. After more than three historic years on Broadway, the show play its final performance at the Foxwoods Theatre on January 4, 2014. Additional information on the upcoming Las Vegas production will be announced in the weeks to come. SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark is currently the 16th highest grossing Broadway production of all time, having taken in more than $200 million at the box office. The show has been seen by approximately two million fans, and will have played 1,268 performances by the time it takes its final bow at the Foxwoods Theatre.

SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK to Close in January 2014?

The Wall Street Journal reports that SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will be switching off the lights in January 2014. 'People familiar with the matter' told the WSJ that the announcement will be made this week. Variety has also independently confirmed the show's January closing.

Gene Simmons Offered Role of 'Green Goblin' in SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK!

KISS bass guitarist and vocalist Gene Simmons Tweeted today: 'Thank you, Michael Cohl for offering me the role of the Green Goblin on the Broadway production of #spiderman', along with a picture of the villain. DTC to Launch DTC Book Club with OEDIPUS EL REY, 1/16

Dallas Theater Center announced today a new program for the 2013-14 season, DTC Book Club hosted by DTC Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty. DTC Book Club events are scheduled to take place with productions of Oedipus el Rey, The Fortress of Solitude, Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure and Les Miserables. Roundabout's DINNER WITH FRIENDS to Begin Previews Jan 17

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Dinner with Friends by Pulitzer Prize winnerDonald Margulies, directed by Tony Award winner Pam MacKinnon will open on February 13, 2014. The cast will include Jeremy Shamos as 'Gabe,' Darren Pettie as 'Tom', Marin Hinkle as 'Karen,' and Maria Dizzia as 'Beth.'

CARRIE Original Score Soundtrack to Be Released 10/21

Sony Classical is pleased to announce the international digital release of the original score from the Motion Picture Carrie on October 21. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Screen Gems will release Carrie nationwide on Friday, October 18.

Justin Matthew Sargent , the new web-slinging superhero in Broadway's SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, sang the National Anthem at the sold-out preseason game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat last night at the Barclays Center. Sargent's performance of the Anthem lead directly into a 10 minute ceremony during which the Nets retired the No. 5 jersey of Jason Kidd, one of the franchise's best players and new coach, to the rafters.
