In the second concert of its 51st season, New Amsterdam Singers (NAS) will perform Brahms's popular Zigeunerlieder (Gypsy Songs), along with choral works by Haydn, Mendelssohn, Wolf, and recent pieces by contemporary American composers Carol Barnett and Robert S. Cohen. The concert will take place Today, March 8, 2019, at 8:00 p.m., at Broadway Presbyterian Church, Broadway at 114th Street.

Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale Take the Stage in Verizon Hall for Annual Concert, 6/4

This June, the Philadelphia Boys Choir returns to the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts to showcase their talent and delight audiences with favorites and premieres of exciting new works. Slated for Saturday, June 4 at 4:00 pm, the concert will preview the repertoire for the Choir's upcoming summer tour to Cuba, including a new arrangement of Gershwin's Cuban Overture with lyrics written by acclaimed poet Richard Blanco. The concert will also include traditional numbers and feature the world premiere of Genesis by composer Robert S. Cohen, and performances by former choir member and recent contestant on The Voice, Nate Butler and local musical theatre star Ben Dibble. The concert will alsoinclude a ceremony honoring founder and legendary artistic director emeritus, Dr. Robert G. Hamilton, on his 80 th birthday.

Deborah Simpkin King to Lead Manhattan Choral Ensemble in Holiday Concert, 12/6-8

The Manhattan Choral Ensemble (MCE) will begin its 14th season with guest conductor Deborah Simpkin King leading a program of holiday music on December 6, 2013 and December 8, 2013. As the fourth installment of the MCE's Reading and Carols series, the choir will present musical selections and literary passages focused on the theme of Love. Dr. King will conduct in place of the MCE's Founder and Director Thomas Cunningham, who is currently on a one-year sabbatical in New Zealand. This is the first MCE program ever to feature a guest conductor.

The Manhattan Choral Ensemble (MCE) will venture into new territory in its 14th season through collaborations with three distinguished guest conductors who will stand in for Music Director Thomas Cunningham during his one-year sabbatical in New Zealand. The three guest conductors-Deborah Simpkin King, Andrew Megill and Joseph Flummerfelt-have worked with Mr. Cunningham to curate programs that will showcase the MCE's commitment to contemporary composers and choral masterworks.
