The Ensemble Theatre Act One Young Professionals kick off their sixth annual poetry event entitled: Drama-try: A Dramatic Night of Poetry, Saturday, April 22, 2017, 7:00pm - Midnight at The Ensemble Theatre 3535 Main St. Houston, TX 77002.

On Wednesday, April 12, Sierra Stages and the Miners Foundry present the controversial and critically acclaimed play, 'HAND TO GOD', written by Robert Askins, as part of 'Theater By The Book,' a series of informal play readings for the community.

The T.R.U.T.H Project (Telling Real Unapologetic Truths through Healing) kicks off its 2nd annual fundraiser entitled: We Are Gold, Saturday, October 22, 2016, 4:00p.m. - 7:00p.m. Zimm's Martini & Wine Bar 4321 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006   "The growth and impact we have in the community is still very surreal to me," says Founder Kevin Anderson. "It's humbling to have the support of artists and healthcare providers who understand the vision for using the arts as a tool for healing through information, education, and access to resources."   This year's fundraiser will include a montage of video clips from previous installments and live demonstrations of spoken word, live music, and visual art to showcase how the T.R.U.T.H. Project connects art and health.

To close their 42nd season, the Hangar Theatre will present Constellations by Nick Payne from August 4 until 13, 2016. Payne's award-winning play explores the unlikely relationship between a beekeeper and a quantum physicist. It is a story of infinite possibilities exploring how relationships might exist in a parallel universe. Constellationswill be directed by Hangar Theatre Lab Company alum Linsay Firman, who is the Director of Play Development at the Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) in New York City.
