Sheridan Smith and Danny Mac were among the winners at the Manchester Theatre Awards - which were announced today at The Lowry.

Nominations have been announced for the forthcoming Manchester Theatre Awards, to be held at The Lowry's Quays Theatre on Friday 9 March, hosted by actor and comedian Justin Moorhouse.

The evening's program features Clark's choreographic work come, been and gone. Michael Clark is considered one of Britain's leading choreographers and this performance will mark the company's Pittsburgh debut.

In order for Gifted Companies to present their work in London and for the Fringe/Studio Theatres to afford to book them, this subsidy has been established. The annual Mark Marvin Rent Subsidy Award of £1500, covering 2 weeks @ £750 per week will be awarded each year in perpetuity with the hope that matching funds will be made available. The annual Peter Brook/Equity Ensemble Award of £2000 is to help establish deeper development of ensemble work within the studio theatres.

The Lowry announced today that its Artistic Director Robert Robson died suddenly last night, September 6, at the age of 58.
