MCC Theater has added more star wattage to its benefit reading of a new Neil LaBute play, Reasons to be Pretty Happy: previously announced headliner Paul Rudd will now be joined by Emmy nominee Amber Tamblyn, two-time Tony winner Norbert Leo Butz and NYC stage veteran Jennifer Mudge for this one-night-only world premiere developmental reading on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at 7:30PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre.

MCC Theater has announced that its previously announced benefit reading of a new Neil LaBute play, Reasons to be Pretty Happy, will be led by star of stage and screen-and frequent LaBute collaborator-Paul Rudd, who previously worked with LaBute on the critically acclaimed play, The Shape of Things in both New York and London as well as the film adaptation.  He also starred on stage in LaBute's bash - in New York and Los Angeles.

Beth Behrs, the star of CBS's 2 BROKE GIRLS, leads the cast of the world premiere of Halley Feiffer's comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City at MCC Theater. Behrs is joined by Obie winner Lisa Emery, most recently seen on the hit Netflix drama JESSICA JONES, as well as stage veteran Jacqueline Sydney and Erik Lochtefeld. MCC Theater will present a world premiere reading of a new Neil LaBute play-the third in his 'Reasons' trilogy-entitled Reasons to be Pretty Happy. The one-night-only reading, to be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, will benefit the nonprofit's robust education and playwright development programs. Just last night, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage & screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nominee Keala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams. MCC Theater Will Break Ground on New Performance Space Later This Month

MCC Theater announced today that it will break ground on its first permanent home on March 22, 2016. Set to open in 2018, the space will unite MCC's diverse roster of programs under one roof for the first time in the company's three-decade history. The new facility will also allow MCC to expand its programming and establish it as a cultural anchor within the Clinton neighborhood. One of New York's leading nonprofit Off-Broadway companies, the institution fosters the dynamic exchange of ideas between artists, audiences, and young people through its productions of world, American, and New York premiere plays and musicals, a robust playwright development initiative, and one of the nation's leading arts education programs.
