The Book of Mormon opens in the West End tonight - and here are the first pictures from the star-studded red carpet!

Award-winning Canyon Crest Academy's Envision Theatre in San Diego is thrilled to present Avenue Q- School Edition. Based on an original concept by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, Avenue Q School Edition is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

In a fun rendition of their opening song, the US touring cast of The Book of Mormon welcomed the London company with open arms. The cast said 'Hello!' to their newly extended family; 'From our family to yours -- have a Happy Opening! Wishing you a long a successful run! Break a leg!' said the blurb below the video.

French Stewart, TV star ('3rd Rock From the Sun') and local theatre mainstay ('Stoneface': 'Voice Lessons') hosted the 44th annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC) Awards on March 18 at the Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 S. Spring St. downtown.

Starring Mark Evans as Elder Kevin Price and Christopher John O'Neill as Elder Arnold Cunningham, the comedy duo bring convulsive comedy to the stage rivaling veteran actors Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. Each elder attempts to spread the good news in his own way; Arnold seems to pull scripture out of his a$$ to fit whatever point he is trying to promote. Kevin tries the traditional method but winds up having to pull the actual book out of his a$$ after it was unceremoniously placed there by a terrorist. It's never fun being the butt of a joke.

Before Matt Stone, Trey Parker, and Robert Lopez's BOOK OF MORMON made Missionaries cool, Steven Fales began sharing his personal story in the riveting and compelling one-man show CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY. The show first premiered at the Sunstone Symposium in Salt Lake City in 2001. Since then, he has gone on to perform the show off-Broadway at the SoHo Playhouse with direction by Jack Hofsiss in 2006, all over the United States, the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and London's West End in 2012.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house record in Rochester for the week ending March 10 at the Auditorium Theatre.

AVENUE Q, the zany, adult-themed spoof on Sesame Street, won the Tony "Triple Crown" for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book. Now onstage through April 6 at Santa Monica's Morgan-Wixson Theatre, the show is part flesh, part felt and packed with lots of heart. With 2,534 performances, Avenue Q ranks 23rd on the list of longest running shows in Broadway history, and this production does the show proud.

Broadway in Indianapolis announces its 2013-2014 season. From the creators of South Park and winner of nine Tony Awards, THE BOOK OF MORMON will play a limited two-week engagement January 17-22, 2014. The New York Times calls it 'the best musical of this century' and Entertainment Weekly says it's 'the funniest musical of all time.' Back by popular demand, THE BOOK OF MORMON which played a record-breaking two-week run in January 2013 will return for a limited engagement from July 22 - August 10, 2014 at The Paramount Theatre. Subscribers to the 2013/14 KeyBank Broadway at The Paramount season will have first access to purchase tickets on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 to the return engagement of THE BOOK OF MORMON. A public on sale date is to be determined.

It would be easy to be either immediately won over by the hype surrounding this show before ever seeing it, or to be disappointed once you had, because it couldn't possibly live up to it. That's why I go into these things with reasonable expectations. I'm already a fan of Trey Parker and Matt Stone (South Park, Team America, Cannibal! The Musical, etc) and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, Phineas and Ferb, etc), and I can certainly appreciate the work they did creating the book, music and lyrics for this show, THE BOOK OF MORMON. But, I do think you have to be attuned to their particular brand of humor in order to fully appreciate it. Poking fun at religion is certainly nothing new for any of them, and they've always brought a sense of the conventions of musical theatre to whatever art form they've tackled, and with THE BOOK OF MORMON they've produced something which is both terribly funny and catchy as well.

THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, is pleased to announce a lottery ticket policy for the National Tour, which begins March 26, 2013 at the Benedum Center and plays a limited two week engagement through April 7, 2013. In Pittsburgh, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the Theater Square Box Office, 655 Penn Avenue, making 1 or 2 tickets available at $25 apiece.

THE BOOK OF MORMON will run March 26-April 7, 2013 at the Benedum Center. The performance schedule is Tuesday-Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday at 2:00 and 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday at 1:00 and 6:30 p.m. THE BOOK OF MORMON is part of the PNC Broadway Across America-Pittsburgh series presented by The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Symphony and Broadway Across America.

In Detroit, the production will conduct a pre-show lottery at the box office, making 20 tickets per performance available at $29 apiece.
