Exploring themes of love, loss and laughter, Opera North Announces Its Winter Productions

Poul Ruder's 1998 operatic take on The Handmaid's Tale takes flight once again at the English National Opera featuring a new production and the West End debut of Camille Cottin (Killing Eve, Call My Agent).

This April, the César-nominated actor Camille Cottin will join the cast of the English National Opera’s (ENO) new production of The Handmaid’s Tale at the London Coliseum. Collaborating with a cast of world-class opera singers, Camille will be making her West End debut acting in her first opera.

This April, the English National Opera's (ENO) Artistic Director Annilese Miskimmon will make her company directorial debut with a powerful new production of Poul Ruders' The Handmaid's Tale. Based on Margaret Atwood's seminal novel, this outstandingly relevant work was last staged at the London Coliseum in 2003 when it received its first English language debut.

In one of its boldest undertakings yet, the London Philharmonic Orchestra today [28 October 2019] announces that it will present all four operas of Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen over a week at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, the Orchestra's London home. The full cycle will be performed twice from 25-31 January 2021 and 5-10 February 2021.

This autumn, Welsh National Opera return to Birmingham Hippodrome with a major presentation of three epic Russian-themed works which marks the centenary of the Russian Revolution.

LA Opera is collaborating with Classical KUSC 91.5fm to produce the ninth consecutive season of LA Opera On Air, a weekly broadcast series of LA Opera performances recorded live at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
