Friday night for the inagural performance, Milwaukee's Skylight Music Theatre presented Daron Hagen's world premiere I Hear America Singing in the Studio Theatre at the Historic Third Ward's Broadway Theatre Center. The Milwaukee born and bred Hagen, a graduate from Brookfield Central High School and afterwards the University of Wisconsin-Madison before attending Julliard, composed a message that “love abides,' whether in love of art, country, music, personal relationships or self. An innovative production that defies conventional definitions.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) is delighted to announce its spring schedule of major events. The largest single source of performing arts events in the state of Ohio, CCM presents nearly 150 major public performances from Jan. 12 through May 18, ranging from faculty and guest artist concerts to fully supported opera, musical theatre, drama and dance productions.

Stephen Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC opened in Pittsburgh this past Sunday as part of Opera Theater of Pittsburgh's second-annual SummerFest. SummerFest is a three-week artistic celebration that 'brings together a pack of independently-spirited, joyfully unconventional people to celebrate community as well as cultural values' through the presentation of six distinct operas for theatergoers of all ages and interests.
