Full casting has been announced for the World Premiere of John Cassavetes' OPENING NIGHT, a new musical with book by Ivo van Hove and music and lyrics by Rufus Wainwright.

Director Mark Giesser returns to Upstairs at the Gatehouse with George and Ira Gershwin's madcap musical hidden gem Strike Up The Band, written with George S. Kaufman in 1927. While the original script was rewritten by Morrie Ryskind in 1930, this production presents the original, with the dark satire on America's war-mongering over a trade deal re-established.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic EVITA is coming to Tokyu Theatre Orb from July 4 to July 29.

This is my first initial reaction after seeing EVITA, the revival of Mr Prince's original West End and Broadway production of the musical by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice, now running in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Acamedy of Performing Arts for its international tour with a brand new cast

So what happens now for Hal Prince's international tour of Evita? Broadway- according to a recent interview with the Straits Times. The production, which opened in Johannesburg, South Africa last fall, and which was reviewed by BroadwayWorld during its Cape Town stop last month, is on its way to play Singapore, Australia and Japan, before bringing the Rainbow tour home to Broadway.

It is an incredibly fascinating experience watching EVITA in South Africa at this time, particularly given the events that have transpired in Zimbabwe over the last month. This musical will speak to the world for as long as the struggle against colonialism and its legacy of inequality continues.

With the first stop in Johannesburg drawing to a close next week, the international tour of EVITA is ready to transfer to Cape Town, where it will play the Artscape Opera House throughout December and into 2018 until 7 January.

The full cast for the Harold Prince-directed production of EVITA in South Africa has been announced. Presented by Pieter Toerien and David Ian, this revival of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical will see the original West End and Broadway production presented on stage at The Teatro at Montecasino and the Artscape Opera House later this year.

Pieter Toerien and David Ian will present a South African season of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical, EVITA, in directed by Broadway legend Harold Prince. The seven-time Tony Award-winning musical charts the rags-to-riches rise of the First Lady of Argentina, who won the love of her countrymen after marrying military leader-turned-president, Juan Peron.
