Producer Riki Kane Larimer (Fiddler on the Roof, Tappin' Thru Life, On The Town, Gigi)has announced the Off-Broadway transfer of The York Theatre Company's acclaimed production of the new musical, Cagney with book by Peter Colley (The Donnelly) and music & lyrics by Robert Creighton and Christopher McGovern (Fame, First Wives Club). Cagney received its New York premiere at The York Theatre Company, last spring, where it played a limited five-week sold out engagement. This new updated, expanded and revised version will begin performances begin on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. for an open-ended engagement at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street). Opening Night is set for Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
Broadway quadruple threat and Bistro Award winner, Robert Creighton, who recently starred as the title character in the critically lauded CAGNEY at the York Theatre Company, brings an all new show, 'Lucky In Love,' to Metropolitan Room on Monday, February 8 at 7pm. Creighton will sing a love and romance-themed repertoire in honor of the season, and you can expect to experience a spectrum from laughter to tears. Located in the heart of NYC, this palatial haven to talent Icons from Ella Fitzgerald to the most unknown up and comers, The Algonquin Hotel's history has housed more talent in NYC than any other structure still in existence. Beautifully woven together by Mr. Colby, The Algonquin Kid-The Musical combines both his personal journey as a child with original material by Mr. Colby in addition to a slew of musical favorites from the American Songbook. This weave helps tell the story of his life growing up in the glory days at this incredible Hotel. The Algonquin Hotel was owned by Mr. Colby's Grandparents, Ben & Mary Bodne from 1946-1987.
