Broadway Backwards is a star-studded event featuring songs that even those not familiar with Broadway know and love, with a very unique and memorable twist. Instead of seeing a woman sing the iconic 'As Long As He Needs Me' from Oliver!, if that song were to be featured in Broadway Backwards, you might see someone like Alan Cumming sing it! The event was a benefit for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of Manhattan.

Cheyenne Jackson made his Broadway debut understudying both male leads in the Tony Award-winning musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. On and Off Broadway, Cheyenne has appeared in Damn Yankees, Xanadu (Drama League, Drama Desk nominations) The Agony & the Agony, All Shook Up (Theater World Award, Drama League, Outer Critics Circle nomination) the premiere cast of Altar Boyz, Aida, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Cartells, On the 20th Century, and The 24 Hour Plays. Several great performers have joined the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals on October 20 & 21 at New World Stages and more have been added to the benefit concert A Toast for 20! on October 19th at COMIX.

Several great performers have joined the National Alliance for Musical Theatre's 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals on October 20 & 21 at New World Stages and more have been added to the benefit concert A Toast for 20! on October 19th at COMIX.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the directors and casts for the eight musicals being presented at its 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th St) on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Also, announced were the line-up for this year's Songwriter Showcase happening during the Festival.

To commemorate their 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals, the National Alliance of Musical Theatre will celebrate with a benefit concert entitled, A Toast to 20! on Sunday, October 19th.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced the official selections for its 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals to be held in New York City.

Joining previously announced Jai Rodriguez (Rent, The Producers, Zanna, Don't!) as Desi Arnaz and Jim J. Bullock (Hair and TV's 'Too Close for Comfort') as Harry Hackerman in the new musical DANCE WITH ME about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz are Fleur Phillips (The Rise and Fall of Little Voice and Scapin) who will be tackling the role of Lucille Ball and Leslie Easterbrook (California Suite, On the Twentieth Century and the Police Academy movies) as Dede Ball.

The Festival of New American Musicals which officially launched throughout Southern California on May 1 will officially end on July 10-13th with a staged reading of the new musical, DANCE WITH ME, based on the lives and romance of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. The Festival has included 158 performances of 43 musical theater events in 36 theaters stretching from Santa Barbara to San Diego, reaching an estimated 122,000 theatergoers.

The award-winning York Theatre Company continues its NEO Spotlight Concert series with Sailing Against the Current: Songs by Robert Bartley and Daniel Whitman.
