Puppet State Theatre of Scotland's THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES Returns to The Alden in McLean

Puppet State Theatre of Scotland returns to The Alden in McLean for the first time since 2011 for a single performance of its award-winning show, "The Man Who Planted Trees." The show will be presented at 2 p.m. on Today, Oct. 15. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, inside the McLean Community Center.

Musicologist John Eaton Explores the Music of Composer Frank Loesser

"Jazz Masters with John Eaton" returns for The Alden in McLean's 2016-2017 Season at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 with "Frank Loesser: A Most Remarkable Fellow." Tickets are $12 for the general public, $5 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The Roundhouse Presents CURTAIN CALL: LIVE PERFORMANCES Tonight

This August, Bloomberg Summer at the Roundhouse, the annual season dedicated to introducing new audiences to innovative culture, returns for its fifth consecutive year with Curtain Call by internationally renowned artist, architect and designer Ron Arad.  Ron Arad's 360° floor-to-ceiling installation is made up of 5,600 silicon rods suspended and filling the Roundhouse's iconic main space. Alongside the installation the Roundhouse has announced seven unique music events, designed by an eclectic mix of artists to take place as one-off performances in and around the installation.

McLean's MLK Day Celebration to Feature Peggy Wallace Kennedy, 1/17

Peggy Wallace Kennedy, daughter of former Alabama governor and segregationist George Wallace, is the keynote speaker for the McLean Community Center's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. Kennedy will give a talk, "A Walk to Redemption," on the life experiences that lead her to become a civil rights advocate. The celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17, in The Alden Theatre, 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

The Alden in McLean Sets Winter-Spring Season

The Alden in McLean announces its winter-spring 2016 season offerings of national and international touring artists. Professional artists from the worlds of comedy, dance, theatre, music, magic, children's theatre and more will visit the 383-seat performing arts venue located inside the Beltway and minutes from downtown DC. Tickets for all season performances are on sale online at the Alden's website www.aldentheatre.org and by phone through OvationTix at 1-866-811-4111. John Eaton to Sing Holiday Favorites at The Alden

Washington, D.C.'s beloved musicologist, humorist and jazz pianist extraordinaire, John Eaton, will share the history and harmonies of some favorite seasonal songs from the American Songbook at a special "Holiday Spectacular" at The Alden in McLean.
