Puppet State Theatre of Scotland's THE MAN WHO PLANTED TREES Returns to The Alden in McLean

By:

Puppet State Theatre of Scotland returns to The Alden in McLean for the first time since 2011 for a single performance of its award-winning show, "The Man Who Planted Trees." The show will be presented at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15. Tickets are $15, $10 for McLean tax district residents. The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue, inside the McLean Community Center.

This multi-sensory theatrical adaptation of French author Jean Giono's classic book tells the inspiring story of a shepherd who plants a forest, acorn by acorn, transforming a barren wasteland. Published in 1953, the book has been hailed as one of the first to bring young readers' attention to environmental issues. As much a touching tale as it is a hilarious puppet show, "The Man Who Planted Trees" shows the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world. The story is also known as "The Man Who Planted Hope and Reaped Happiness" and it holds a vital message for coming generations. The production is suitable for adults and children age 7 and older. "This is a delightful puppet show for young and old-even if you don't have (or know) any kids, don't miss this show!"-ArtsBeatLA
