DEATH OF A SALESMAN Extends Through Aug. 25th at Ruskin Group Theatre

Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the Tony award for "Best Play," Arthur Miller's "Death of a Salesman" stays strikingly relevant in our times. With the original run nearly sold out, Ruskin Group Theatre announces that they will extend the schedule through August 25th. The new schedule will include 8pm Thursdays - Saturdays, 2pm Sundays. Considered to be one of the greatest plays of the 20th Century, subsequent productions on Broadway have won three Tony awards for "Best Revival." 

New York Stage & Film Announces Mentors And Artists For 2019/20 Filmmakers' Workshop

New York Stage and Film has announced the mentors and artists for its 201920 Filmmakers' Workshop. Mentors include Luis Castro (The Pop Culture Collaborative), writerproducer Bash Doran ("Traitors," "Boardwalk Empire"),  Jessica Goldberg ("The Path", "Parenthood"), William Goldberg (Abominable, Infinitely Polar Bear),  Rajiv Joseph (Draft Day, "Nurse Jackie"), Toni Kalem (A Slipping Down Life), Max Mayer (Adam, As Cool As I Am), Shelby Stone ("The Chi", Bessie), and Amy Robinson (After Hours, Julie & Julia).

BWW Review: DEATH OF A SALESMAN at Ruskin Group Theatre

DEATH OF A SALESMAN, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Arthur Miller, is the American Hamlet for actors of a certain age. Its protagonist is a complex, frighteningly bare role, that provides an acting challenge relished by the greats. Rob Morrow, best known for Robert Redford's QUIZ SHOW and the quirky TV dramedy NORTHERN EXPOSURE, pulls off the tricky role by adding an impish quality to the crumbling man, bringing a fresh light to the production at Ruskin Group Theatre.

Tribeca Film Festival 2019 Announces Feature Film Lineup

The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival, presented by AT&T, today unveiled its feature film lineup. Continuing its tradition of elevating exceptional storytelling rooted in today's global film communities, the 18th annual Festival will showcase debut works from emerging talent and new works from notable filmmakers. The program includes discoveries, comedies, music-centered, political and social films. The 2019 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 24 - May 5.  

Jaime Camil And Rob Morrow Host AFIPO 2018 Los Angeles Gala

Rob Morrow and Jaime Camil hosted the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO) 2018 Los Angeles Gala, honoring Grammy and Tony-nominated American composer Stanley Silverman, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The award was presented by his son and event co-chair Ben Silverman, Chairman and Co-CEO of Propagate Content. Previous recipients of the award include multi-Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer in 2014, and conductor Zubin Mehta in 2017.

Legendary Composer Stanley Silverman To Be Honored By Israel Philharmonic

Stanley Silverman will be honored by the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra (AFIPO), on the occasion of his 80th birthday, at their upcoming Los Angeles gala, October 25, 2018 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.  The event will honor the life and work of the diverse Grammy and Tony nominated American composer, with a program inclusive of classical and popular music Silverman has composed for both theater and film, along with remarks by special guests. Actors Rob Morrow and Jane the Virgin star Jaime Camil will MC the event. Silverman joins other musical legends who have been honored by the AFIPO at their Los Angeles gala, including multi-Oscar winning composer Hans Zimmer in 2014, and conductor Zubin Mehta in 2017.

Banjo Nickaru & Western Scooches are likely the only band today infusing elements of Gullah-Geechee and world rhythms with folk traditions, Americana, New Orleans influences, and 1920s jazz. The forthcoming sophomore album, Get Us Out Of Fearland, due June 15, builds upon the multicultural exuberance that made the band's debut, Very Next Thing, a transcendent breath of fresh air. Elmore Magazine championed its “remarkable musical dexterity with songs that bask in a genuine roots regimen and a sense of timeless tradition,” and revered tastemaker station WFUV said, “This is a band that must be heard to be believed!'

New York Stage And Film Expands Filmmakers' Workshop With Winter Sessions

New York Stage and Film announced today that they have expanded their Filmmakers' Workshop winter session, bringing the 2017-18 residency filmmakers to New York City to get feedback on the rewrite of their script, participate in Master Classes addressing the next phase of their process, and meet other professionals from the industry at a celebratory cocktail party this year hosted by Moet Hennessy.
