ALEX CROSS will be released in theaters on October 19th from Summit Entertainment. The New York Comedy Festival (NYCF), in association with COMEDY CENTRAL, has announced more than 70 additional shows taking place at more than 25 venues throughout New York City, now added to its 2012 schedule, highlighted by two events in partnership with The Paley Center for Media: a reunion of the creative minds behind the landmark TV series The Ben Stiller Show and a Conversation with Denis Leary in celebration of his new publication Merry F***in' Christmas.

In addition, the NYCF's New York's Funniest Stand-Up competition, brought to you in partnership with JetBlue, and the festival's Comics To Watch program will offer emerging comics a platform to showcase their work to industry professionals in front of a live audience.

Today we are talking to a stand-up comedienne celebrated for her caustic wit, erudite political humor and illuminating social observations who has also made a name for herself over the last two decades as an actress by appearing in over 100 feature films and television shows, including recurring roles on the TV series SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE BEN STILLER SHOW, THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW and 24, as well as her film resume, ranging from roles in ROMY & MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION to WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER to REALITY BITES, COP LAND, THE CABLE GUY, NOW AND THEN and many more - the one and only Janeane Garofalo.
