York Little Theatre will present the Roald Dahl classic JAMES & THE GIANT PEACH, May 16-18 and 23-25.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's world premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical has captured the imagination of young and old alike and continues to play to packed houses at London's Cambridge Theatre. Sweeping the board at the 2012 Laurence Olivier Awards, winning a record-breaking seven awards, the Broadway production has taken the US by storm winning four Tony Awards® and a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theater for each of the four girls sharing the title role. piece by piece productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater have announced that performances of the world premiere of A Fable, written by David Van Asselt and directed by Daniel Talbott, begin tonight at 7pm at the Cherry Lane Theatre, 38 Commerce Street. The opening night is set for Thursday, May 22 at 7pm. A Fable is scheduled to run through Saturday, June 28.

Interim General Director Plato Karayanis and Artistic Director Tobias Picker announce OPERA San Antonio's inaugural season as the Resident Opera Company of the new Tobin Center for the Performing Arts. OPERA San Antonio will present three new productions for the 2014-15 season: Tobias Picker's Fantastic Mr. Fox, Richard Strauss's Salome and a double bill of Ermanno Wolf- Ferrari's Il segreto di Susanna and La voix humaine by Francis Poulenc.

British Playwright David Wood did the adaptation, which premiered at Imagination Stage in Bethesda, MD in 2013. Mr. Wood has continued to work on the play, and MainStreet is producing a brand new version. Abigail Deser is the director. The production will play two school performances today, May 2nd, and open to the public tomorrow, Saturday, May 3rd at 4pm. The strictly limited engagement will run through Sunday, May 18th only. Nurture Rights, the kids entertainment company set up by Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington last year has today announced a multi year deal with the Birmingham Stage Company to produce a stage production of the classic picture book, Dinosaur Roar!.

Philippa Pearce's classic children's story, Tom's Midnight Garden has been adapted for the stage by the multi-award winning playwright, David Wood and it will be playing at Coventry's Belgrade from Tues 15 to Sat 19 April.
