BUDDY – THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY Opens Tonight in Chicago

Broadway In Chicago has announced the touring cast of the musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story which will play Chicago at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 West Randolph) for a limited engagement tonight, June 18 - 30, 2013.

St. Regis BIG STARS, BRIGHT NIGHTS Concert Series to Kick Off with Los Lonely Boys, 7/4

Putting a little extra sizzle into Independence Day, three powerhouse acts - Los Lobos, Los Lonely Boys and Alejandro Escovedo - kick off the St. Regis Big Stars, Bright Nights concert series. This rockin' triple billing fills Deer Valley Resort's Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater on July 4. Concert starts at 6:30 p.m.; gates open at 5 p.m.

BWW Interviews: Landry Gideon Talks THE SHOW MUST GO ON, His Texas UIL One Act Play Documentary

All across the state of Texas, high school theatre students are gearing up for the annual UIL One Act Play State Championship competition, annually held at the University of Texas in Austin. Just as these students are indefatigably preparing, so is Landry Gideon and his documentary film crew. They have been tirelessly documenting the Texas One Act Play process. Despite the hectic and crazy schedule, Landry Gideon took some time to talk to me about THE SHOW MUST GO ON, his One Act Play documentary, and being a filmmaker.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Presents 'American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music' Today

From Ritchie Valens to Carlos Santana to Selena, the musical contributions of U.S. Latinos from the 1940s to present day will be explored in the free exhibition American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music opening at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts on April 20. Created by EMP Museum, the University of Washington, and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music, its national tour and its related programs are made possible by Ford Motor Company Fund. Accompanying the exhibition will be a display of materials on Latino music and dance from the earliest days of recorded sound to the 1940s from The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts collections. A series of programs and screenings are scheduled at The Library throughout May and June. American Sabor: Latinos in U.S. Popular Music will be on display in the Donald and Mary Oenslager Gallery from April 20, 2013 thru July 13, 2013 at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at 40 Lincoln Center Plaza. Admission is free.

BUDDY Musical to Launch Open Casting Tour in Nashville!

Theseus Productions, LLC and Theater of the Stars has announced that the musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story will hold an open casting call in select cities for the role of 'Buddy Holly' in the upcoming North American Tour. Auditions will be held in Nashville, Austin, Toronto and Atlanta between March 16 and March 23, 2013. Finalists will be invited to audition in New York later that month.
