PS122 Awards Mike Iveson 2013 Ethyl Eichelberger Award

Performance Space 122 (PS122) has announced that multi-talented performance artist Mike Iveson is the winner of the 2013 Ethyl Eichelberger Award. Since 1995, PS122 has given this commissioning award annually to an artist or group that exemplifies Eichelberger's larger-than-life style and generosity of spirit; that embodies his multi-talented artistic virtuosity, bridging worlds and inspiring those around them. Iveson will receive an initial $5,000 commission to create a new work along with full production support when the work premieres during an upcoming PS122 season. The Ethyl Eichelberger award is made possible by the generosity of the Gesso Foundation.

La MaMa presents the World Premiere of The Etiquette of Death, a Chris Tanner Production co-directed by Everett Quinton and Julie Atlas Muz, and choreographed by Julie Atlas Muz, with contributions by a slew of New York's finest downtown artists. The Etiquette of Death, the final show of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season, runs now through July 1, 2012 in a limited engagement at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. La MaMa presents the World Premiere of The Etiquette of Death, a Chris Tanner Production co-directed by Everett Quinton and Julie Atlas Muz, and choreographed by Julie Atlas Muz, with contributions by a slew of New York's finest downtown artists. The Etiquette of Death, the final show of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season, runs from tonight, June 14 through July 1, 2012 in a limited engagement at the Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, called "a riotously funny and campy variety show" by Next Magazine, and 'a rollicking, wry affair complete with funny political commentary on current events' by Gay City News, will present their newest edition on Thursday, January 19 at 9:30 PM. The Meeting* - the monthly gathering of the I.O.S. (International Order of Sodomites) - is a gay romp through politics (sexual and otherwise), social news, music, comedy skits, and other important life-changing information.
