Bay Street Players Holds Auditions for GI HOLIDAY JUKEBOX, 9/20

Bay Street Players will hold auditions for 'GI Holiday Jukebox,' a musical by Rick Lewis, on September 20 and 21 at 7:30pm. Auditions will be held at the historic State Theatre at 109 N. Bay Street in Eustis. Artistic Director, David Clevinger, and Musical Director, Don Hopkinson, are looking for two men and two women ages 20-40 capable of strong four-part harmony. Newcomers are welcome. Those auditioning are requested, but not required, to prepare a musical selection, preferably in the style of the production, and to bring sheet music in their key. In addition, some may be asked to read selections from the script. Anyone not interested in performing onstage is invited to join our team of volunteers and to learn of backstage opportunities needed for this production.

It may be set in 1950, but it could just as easily have been ripped from this morning's TMZ.com - Portland Center Stage brings Billy Wilder's glittering Hollywood train wreck of a tale to the main stage with Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical adaptation of Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Boulevard previews on Tuesday September 14th, with press night on Friday, September 17th, running through October, 2010. Tickets start at $43, with student and under 30 discounts available. Rush tickets are $20. Show times are 7:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday, with a 2:00 pm Sunday matinee and alternating Saturday 2:00 pm and Sunday 7:30 pm performances. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from July 7-23, 2010. All tickets will be $25.00 each, plus applicable handling fees. Trenton Children's Chorus to Premiere New Nunez Work April 10

A blended chorus of one hundred and fifty young people will fill the soaring spaces of Princeton University Chapel with glorious music on Saturday, April 10, at 7:30 PM. The concert, 'Lift One Voice', will feature the premiere of a brand new work by Francisco J. Núñez , noted composer of choral music and Founder/Artistic Director of The Young People's Chorus of New York City. Hailed by the New York Times as one 'who has been raising the bar for children's music for over a decade', Núñez will personally conduct the massed voices which combine members of Trenton Children's Chorus (organizer of the event), with the Westminster Conservatory Cantus, Princeton Girlchoir Cantores, Princeton High School Freshman Women's Choir, and Núñez' own Young People's Chorus.
