Skylight Music Theatre Artistic Director Ray Jivoff today announced the full cast, creative team and band for Zombies from The Beyond, an out-of-this-world musical comedy written and composed by Milwaukee native James Valcq. Zombies from The Beyond will be presented February 2-18, 2018 in Skylight's beautiful Cabot Theatre.
OCPA Offers 4 New Plays at Newport Theatre Arts Center

What just may be her last live performance in her beloved hometown, Aretha Franklin will headline a free outdoor concert which includes some of the most popular Detroit bred musical acts from R&B to Rock, to Hip Hop, to Techno and even Country and Gospel. On Saturday June 10 in the center of the Detroit Entertainment District, bookended by a Friday June 9 Tribute concert to the Queen of Soul starring a bevy of selected celebrity vocalists and backed by the Detroit SuperBAND at Music Hall.

At the most recent BROADWAY BY THE YEAR presentation on March 27, at its usual home of the Town Hall, the 1940s was the sent-up decade from which the evening's performers sang. At a time in the country that currently bears striking and cryptic similarity to that grim period of global history, the resonance of the evening's selections rang eerily. Additionally, they also demonstrated how little the relationship between culture and society has changed over the last seven decades.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Broadway rock opera, 'Jesus Christ Superstar' recounts the last days of Jesus Christ from the perspective of Judas Iscariot, his betrayer. As Jesus' following increases, Judas begins to worry that Jesus is falling for his own hype, forgetting the principles of his teachings and growing too close to the prostitute Mary Magdalene. After Jesus has an outburst in a temple, Judas turns on him.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET), Frederick's largest producing non-profit theater, launched a Capital Campaign in September of 2013 to raise funds for an additional performance venue and alterations to the existing facilities. On January 10, 2015 MET celebrated the completion of the Stage2: The Greene Space venue and numerous other capital improvements with a ribbon cutting ceremony, hours of free activities for families, and an evening of comedy and music. Back by popular demand for Shakespeare Orange County's twenty-second anniversary season celebration are 'Pay What You Will Thursdays' at Garden Grove's Festival Amphitheatre. Audience members can make a 'donation of their choice' for tickets to the remaining Thursday evening performance of TWELFTH NIGHT OR WHAT YOU WILL and MACBETH at the Festival Amphitheatre in an outdoor setting with performances staged under the night sky.
