The Loyola Faculty Brass Quintet will kick off a series of concerts, including a memorial recital dedicated to the late Phil Frohnmayer, by Loyola University New Orleans' leading musical ensembles as part of the Montage Fine and Performing Arts Series. All performances are free and open to the public.

St. Petersburg Opera Company presents it's Fall/Winter listings from November 2nd to February 4th, including seasonal festivities, and Opera Idol, like the television show, only highlighting the opera talents of local youth.

Parma-based Artemis Danza, one of the most beloved dance companies in Italy, makes it United States debut with its highly acclaimed production of "Traviata" at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 915 East 60th Street, for one performance Thursday, Nov. 14 at 8 p.m. Under the leadership of Monica Casadei, the company's acclaimed adaptation of Giuseppe Verdi's "La Traviata," based on Alexandre Dumas play "La Dame aux Camelias," is presented as part of a celebration of the bicentenary of Giuseppe Verdi's birth and the year of Italian Culture in the United States. Opera San Jose? (OSJ) continues its 30th Anniversary Season with Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel. This enduring fairy tale of lost children, candy treats, and an evil witch comes to life for the holiday season in this delightful production. Hansel and Gretel will be sung in English, with English supertitles. Washington National Opera (WNO) opens its 2013-2014 season with a production honoring the 200th birthday of one of opera's most renowned composers: Richard Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, today, September 15 through the 27th in the Kennedy Center Opera House. This epic romantic drama stars Deborah Voigt as Isolde and Ian Storey and Clifton Forbis as Tristan, and will be seen in a production new to Washington directed by Neil Armfield in his WNO debut. WNO Music Director Philippe Auguin leads the WNO Orchestra in interpreting some of Wagner's most passionate and powerful music.
