MasterVoices (formerly The Collegiate Chorale) will celebrate its 75th anniversary during the 2016-2017 season, beginning with the New York premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon and Royce Vavrek's 27, specially adapted for MasterVoices, on October 20 and 21, 2016 at 8pm at New York City Center, 131 W. 55th Street, New York City.

Last April, the George London Foundation for Singers concluded the 20th year of its celebrated George London Foundation Recital Series with a gala featuring some of opera's most prominent American and Canadian stars.  The foundation has been honoring, supporting, and presenting the finest young opera singers in the U.S. and Canada since 1971, and the annual series presents pairs of outstanding opera singers, many of whom were winners of a George London Award, the prize of the foundation's annual vocal competition.

Dramatists Guild Fund President Andrew Lippa and Executive Director Rachel Routh announced today this year's gala theme will be Great Writers Thank Their Lucky Stars: The Presidential Edition taking place the evening before Election Day on November 7, 2016 (6:30 PM).

Boston Lyric Opera (BLO) opens its 40th season with Calixto Bieito's bold staging of Georges Bizet's Carmen, the largest production the company has mounted in its four decades. Set in the arid earthiness of post-Franco Spanish North Africa, Carmen is a powerful account of a defiantly free-spirited woman and her obsessive lover. With the familiar story and iconic score that opera buffs and casual opera-goers alike know and love, BLO's Carmen opens September 23 for four performances through October 2. The run marks the company's debut at the Boston Opera House whereCarmen will be the first professional opera produced at the venerable theater since 1991.

One of the most highly anticipated events of the opera season, the Richard Tucker Music Foundation's annual gala returns home to New York's Carnegie Hall for the first time in more than a quarter of a century on Sunday, October 30.

Queens Theatre's new season, which will begin in October 2016 and continue through May 2017, will feature Dance, Theatre and Family programming along with many special events.

Playwright and lyricist Brian Yorkey employs humor through funny lines and situations to balance and lighten the play's serious and painful situations of human life. Queens Theatre is partnering with Lincoln Center Education to present free outdoor screenings of some of the most impactful Lincoln Center performances of these past 2 years. A flash mob of more than 100 teens will be playing guitar and singing in celebration of the power of music as part of Guitar Mash's Teen Mash Mob at Richard Tucker Square (66th Street between Columbus Ave and Broadway) today, May 13 at 5:30 p.m. Featured among them will be guest guitarist Brandon Niederauer, who plays 'Zack' in Broadway's SCHOOL OF ROCK.

The New York Choral Society will present Handel's biblical oratorio Israel in Egypt under the baton of Music Director David Hayes, today evening, May 10th, 2016, 8pm at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium. Composed entirely from selected passages from the Bible's Old Testament, Israel in Egypt relates the harshness of the Israelites' captivity in Egypt and their subsequent triumphant escape from the Pharaoh's oppressive regime. Israel in Egypt is atypical in Handel's choral output, as it contains little solo material and is dominated by large-scale virtuosic choruses that exhibit Handel's mastery as a musical storyteller.
