Hallie Foote To Star In Hartford Stage/Signature's THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE

2009 Tony Award nominee Hallie Foote (Dividing the Estate) will be featured in the cast of THE ORPHANS' HOME CYCLE, the nine-play three part theatrical event by her late father, the Pulitzer Prize and Academy Award winning playwright Horton Foote, which will be co-produced in the 2009-2010 season by Hartford Stage (Michael Wilson, Artistic Director; Michael Stotts, Managing Director) and Signature Theatre Company (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director).

Houdyshell Is 'CORALINE' for MCC, Previews Begin 5/7

The New York Times is reporting that, MCC Theater has announced a bit of unconventional casting news for its stage adaptation of the graphic novel by Neil Gaiman. Jayne Houdyshell, 55, who was nominated for a Tony award for her performance in 'Well,' will play the 9-year-old Coraline according to the Times' Arts, Briefly column.

TO BE OR NOT TO BE Plays Final Performance 11/16

It has been announced that MTC's production of TO BE OR NOT TO BE will play its final performance on November 16th, 2008. November 16th, 2008 is the end of Manhattan Theater Club's subscription run. They had previously been offering tickets through November 23rd, 2008, but will now be canceling that week of performances. Patrons who have purchased tickets for performances through November 23rd, 2008 should return to their point of purchase for a refund.

First Photo Preview of Manhattan Theatre Club's 'To Be or Not To Be'

Manhattan Theatre Club (Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) is pleased to announce full casting for their upcoming world premiere production of Nick Whitby's 'To Be or Not To Be.' The play, based on the 1942 motion picture of the same name will be directed by three-time Tony Award nominee Casey Nicholaw ('The Drowsy Chaperone,' 'Monty Python's Spamalot').

'Wicked' Welcomes Back Kassebaum and Houdyshell

The Broadway musical WICKED will welcome two former cast members back to the blockbuster hit this spring. Beginning Wednesday, May 14, KENDRA KASSEBAUM will return to the role of Glinda the Good Witch and beginning Tuesday, June 17, JAYNE HOUDYSHELL will return to the role of Madame Morrible.

Kritzer and Miranda Win Clarence Derwent Awards

Variety.com reports that actress Leslie Kritzer (Legally Blonde) and composer-writer-actor Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) are the two winners of Actors' Equity's Clarence Derwent Award, given out annually to the season's most promising male and female performers.

Wilson and Margulies to Receive Seff Awards

Mary Louise Wilson and David Margulies have been named to receive the annual Richard Seff Awards, presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation.
