Richard Nelson's HUNGRY Opens Tonight at The Public

The Public Theater presents HUNGRY, now through Sunday, March 27, as part of Oskar Eustis' 10th Anniversary season. Play one, part of THE GABRIELS: Election Year in the Life of One Family, written and directed by Richard Nelson, HUNGRY officially opens tonight, March 4.

Len Cabral & Charlene Carpenzano to Receive 2016 Pell Awards

?At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will honor local artists Len Cabral and Charlene Carpenzano with Rhode Island Pell Awards for Excellence in the Arts alongside previously announced honorees The Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, Laurie Eustis and Elizabeth Chace. The awards ceremony and celebration will be held at Ochre Court on the Salve Regina University Campus in Newport, RI on May 23, 2016. BWW Review: SORRY: An Unfortunate Title for Third Installment of APPLE FAMILY PLAYS

Stoneham Theatre stages the third installment in Richard Nelson's four-play series with the director, design team, and cast intact from the earlier entries. They are a cohesive, well-oiled team, but while SORRY gets deeper into the personalities of the characters, it fails to deliver the political goods that we would expect from its setting on Election Day, 2012. Of course, no fiction could match the histrionics of the real life 2016 election-year campaign.

Over the course of a single month, these unlikely roommates infuriate, bewilder and ultimately reach each other. Vera and Leo use their anti-heroic, sometimes annoying attributes in sparring with each other.  4000 Miles looks at how two outsiders find their way in today's world.

The Public Theater Extends Richard Nelson's HUNGRY

The Public Theater announced a one-week extension today for HUNGRY, through Sunday, March 27, part of Oskar Eustis' 10th Anniversary season. Play one, part of THE GABRIELS: Election Year in the Life of One Family, written and directed by Richard Nelson, HUNGRY begins previews on Saturday, February 27, with an official press opening on Friday, March 4. Featuring the same core acting company for all three productions, the second play in the cycle, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?, will premiere in September and the final play in the new cycle, WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, will open on election night, November 8, 2016.

Falls & Bockley's 2666 Extends Before World Premiere at Goodman Theatre

Robert Falls' and Seth Bockley's world premiere adaptation of Roberto Bolaño's famed novel, 2666-which has received extraordinary audience enthusiasm during previews and officially opens tomorrow, February 16-has been extended. Four additional performances include March 17, 18 and 19 at 6:30pm and March 20 at 1pm. The 15-member all-Chicago ensemble cast remains unchanged during the added performances.

Theater Close-Up and REPAIRING A NATION 2/18 at 9 p.m. on THIRTEEN

The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the world premiere three-play cycle THE GABRIELS: Election Year in the Life of One Family, written and directed by Richard Nelson. Featuring the same core acting company for all three productions, Play One: HUNGRY, will begin previews on Saturday, February 27 and run through, Sunday, March 20, with an official press opening on Friday, March 4, 2016. The second play, WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?, will premiere in September and the final play in the new cycle, WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE, will open on election night, November 8, 2016.
