Metropolitan Opera Announces Family-Friendly Holiday Presentation of Hansel and Gretel

The Metropolitan Opera announces the return of Engelbert Humperdinck's, Hansel and Gretel, with eight performances during the holiday season. Aleksandra Kurzak and Heidi Stober alternate as Gretel and Kate Lindsey and Alice Coote alternate as Hansel in Richard Jones's spectacular production, which runs from December 16 to January 7 with special weekday matinee performances at family-friendly prices. Conductor Robin Ticciati makes his Metropolitan Opera debut with this production.

Artistic director Timothy Sheader will direct George and Ira Gershwin's hit musical comedy, Crazy for You as the final show in the 2011 season at Regent's Park Open Air Theatre from 28 July - 10 September. The creative team from the multi-award winning production of Hello, Dolly! reunite as Stephen Mear choreographs and Peter McKintosh designs. Gareth Valentine returns as the musical director after joining the Open Air Theatre last season for Sondheim's Into the Woods.
