Richard Jenkins To Star in 'Let Me In'

Richard Jenkins' next role is anticipated to be quite juicy: he has reportedly signed on to star in 'Let Me In,' an adaptation of the twisted Swedish Film 'Let The Right One In.' In the original Swedish film, a bullied 12-year-old boy develops a friendship with a young vampire girl in Blackeberg, a suburb of Stockholm, in the early 1980s. It is suspected that Jenkins will play the part equivalent to Hakan, the older man who cares for the un-seeming girl.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that Oscar nominee and 2001 Tony winner Viola Davis is negotiating to take a featured role in Columbia Picture's 'Eat, Pray, Love' opposite Julia Roberts and Richard Jenkins. Scheduling is being worked out for the actress to join the production.

The Independent Film 2009 Spirit Awards were given out last night Saturday, February 21 in Los Angeles and The Wrestler was a big winner, nabbing Best Film and Best Actor for star Mickey Rourke. Other acting awards went to Melissa Leo for Best Actress for Frozen River, James Franco won best supporting actor for Milk, while Penelope Cruz snagged a best supporting win for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Woody Allen earned a Best Screenplay award for the film as well.

Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional, theatre based in Raleigh, North Carolina will conclude its 2008/2009 season with the world premiere of 1960, written by Ian Finley and the Burning Coal Theatre Company, directed by Jerome Davis, Burning Coal's Artistic Director. The production runs April 9 - 26, 2009 at Meymandi Theatre at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are April 9 - 11, 16 - 18 and 23 - 25 at 7:30 pm and April 12, 19 and 26 at 2 p.m.
All performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. All tickets are $20 or $15 (students, seniors 65+ and active military personnel). Thursday night tickets are $10 apiece accept for the opening night gala on April 9, which is $30. We also have $5 student rush tickets available 5 minutes before each performance. The first Sunday of the run, April 12th at 2 p.m. will be the 'Pay What You Can' performance. The first Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 p.m. will be audio described for the visually impaired. Cleese revealed to Weintraub that he is working 'in earnest' with his daughter Camilla on the stage musical adaptation of his classic film, 'A Fish Called Wanda'.
The comic legend hopes to have it finished in the next two to three years and debut it in San Diego with the hope of the production continuing on to Broadway and London's West End reports the website.
