The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) just welcomed Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth as host for the seventh annual BROADWAY SALUTES event last night, September 29, 2015. The event included special guest performances by Nikki M James, Nathaniel Hackmann, Sydney Lucas and Jake Lucas who each performed a song from three shows that opened the year the BROADWAY SALUTES honorees entered the business. In this industry-wide public celebration, theatre professionals received special recognition for having worked 25, 35 and 50+ years on Broadway for their valuable contributions to the business.

Abingdon Theatre Company is set to celebrate its 2015-2016 Season with ABINGDON: REFLECTIONS OF STARLIGHT, its annual benefit gala and dinner, on Monday, October 26 at Espace (635 West 42nd Street in Manhattan). Richard Jay-Alexander, best known for directing Barbra Streisand and other artists in concert, is set to direct the event, which begins at 6:00pm.

Roshi Handwerger had quite the theatrical resume back in the day, having starred in the Broadway productions of Mame and Oliver! in the 80s, as well as the original off-Broadway production of The Knife. The young actor is a adult now, and according to a recent feature in the Miami Herald, he is now a reporter for Channel 7 News.
Roshi, who is now known as Rosh Lowe, went unrecognized to Mame composer Jerry Herman- a Miami Beach resident. He told MH: 'For three years I have watched newscaster Rosh Lowe, never knowing he was my young Patrick grown up. Mame would be so proud!'
Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA has announced that cabaret star Roslyn Kind will join the critically acclaimed Broadway @ The Art House series for two shows only on July 31 and August 1 at 7:00 PM.
