Disney Theatrical Productions, Broadway Across America, and CAPA today announced that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's The Lion King will go on sale to the public on Thursday, June 26, at 10am. Columbus' most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Ohio Theatre stage on Tuesday, October 14, for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, November 9, 2014. The show's six-week premiere engagement in 2004 played a sold-out run at the Ohio Theatre.
Casting has been announced for the Washington, D.C. engagement of Disney's The Lion King. The stage production returns to the Kennedy Center from June 17 to August 17, 2014. The press opening night is Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. The show's nine-week premiere engagement in 2008 played a sold-out run in the Kennedy Center Opera House.
The Toronto return of Disney's THE LION KING began performances on Wednesday April 30 and officially opens tonight, Thursday, May 1 at the Princess of Wales Theatre, where it will play a limited seven-week engagement through Sunday June 15. The award-winning musical premiered in Toronto in April 2000 at the Princess of Wales Theatre, where it played 1,560 performances through January 2004 and returned in 2011 for an eight-week sold-out engagement.
The North American tour of Disney's THE LION KING celebrated 12 triumphant years on the road on Sunday, April 27 in Atlanta. Since launching in April 2002 in Denver, CO, THE LION KING North American touring productions have played nearly 7,000 performances during 135 engagements in 77 cities. Disney Theatrical Productions and BMO Harris Bank Broadway at the Marcus Center and Broadway Across America-Milwaukee series announced today that tickets for the long-awaited return engagement of Disney's THE LION KING will go on sale to the public on Sunday, June 15 at 9:00 am in-person at the Marcus Center Box Office only. Ticketmaster.com and all Ticketmaster outlets will go on sale at 12:00 pm. Milwaukee's most eagerly awaited return will once again leap onto the Milwaukee Theatre stage on Wednesday, November 11 for a limited engagement of four weeks through Sunday, December 7. The opening night is Thursday, November 13 at 7:30 pm at the Milwaukee Theatre. The show's five-week premiere engagement in 2008 played a sold-out run at the Milwaukee Theatre.
The Atlanta return of Disney's THE LION KING opens tomorrow, Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. at the Fox Theatre for a limited three-week engagement through Sunday, April 27. In Atlanta, THE LION KING plays Tuesday through Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. as well as matinees on Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. A special weekday matinee will take place on Thursday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. "While sales have exceeded our expectations, tickets can still be purchased and patrons are encouraged to contact the Fox Theatre Box Office to inquire about the best availability," said Russ Belin, Vice President of Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta.
Atlanta's most eagerly awaited return will leap onto the Fox Theatre stage for the first time today, April 10, 2014 for a limited engagement of three weeks through April 27, 2014. Preview performances are Thursday, April 10, Friday, April 11 and the matinee performance on Saturday, April 12 with the official opening night performance on Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m.
Disney's THE LION KING continues to reign across North America with a sold-out engagement in Seattle, which concluded on Sunday, April 6 at The Paramount Theatre. The triumphant four-week return grossed more than $6.7 million at the box office and entertained more than 90,000 patrons during 32 performances. The award-winning musical returned to Seattle following a seven-week sold-out premiere in 2005 and a successful five-week return in 2009 at The Paramount Theatre.

American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker, choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, is set to a score by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky and features scenery and costumes by Richard Hudson and lighting by Jennifer Tipton.
