Actors Temple Announces 11/20 Benefit

The Best of Broadway & Cabaret will come out in support of the Actors Temple, (est. 1917) on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 7 PM. This theater district historic landmark (339 West 47th Street) has fallen on hard times in recent years & is in dire need of help.

Tickets are now on sale for two winter productions at Theatre Aspen, an award-winning professional theatre in the Rocky Mountains. Theatre Aspen School presents the Howard Ashman and Alan Menken musical Little Shop of Horrors at the Aspen District Theatre from December 2nd - 11th, followed by an encore presentation of the beloved musical Annie, by Thomas Meehan (book), Charles Strouse (music) and Martin Charnin (lyrics). Annie played to sold-out houses in Aspen this summer, and was the largest musical ever produced by the organization, now in its twenty-eighth year. Annie will run from December 16th - 23rd, at the historic Wheeler Opera House in downtown Aspen.

This past Wednesday and Thursday, host Jim Caruso and musical director Billy Stritch oversaw another Hollywood edition of Cast Party, the wildly successful open mic night, which tours the country celebrating local talent. The event, made up of impromptu musical performances, has been running every Monday at Birdland in New York City for the past eight years.

Off-Broadway Comedy WHITES LIES To Become Sitcom

On Monday morning, playwright Ben Andron flew to California where he is currently in negotiations to turn WHITE'S LIES into a sitcom. Producer Aaron Grant isn't surprised. 'I can't get into specifics for obvious reasons,' Grant commented. 'But it's not surprising, especially since so many people likened the play to a sitcom, our audiences rarely stop laughing & the cast list reads like a who's who of television talent & history.'
