Vanessa Claire Stewart's Stoneface, the Rise and Fall and Rise of Buster Keaton, first produced at Sacred Fools Theatre Company in 2012, finds fresh life in a newly remounted production simply titled STONEFACE at Pasadena Playhouse. With a bigger budget, more space in which to play, and clearly enhanced with an eye to continuing its life beyond Los Angeles, it should be set for a rousing success.

Following a wildly successful sold-out run in Los Angeles, the hit musical comedy revue WHEN YOU'RE IN LOVE, THE WHOLE WORLD IS JEWISH will be on the road for a three-city California summer tour. The show will open at San Francisco's Marines' Memorial Theatre from May 24-26 (Memorial Day Weekend), stopping at San Diego's Garfield Theatre July 26-28, and finishing off the summer at Los Angeles' Gindi Auditorium August 8-11. 'When You're In Love, The Whole World Is Jewish' is more than an expression - it is the name of a World Premiere comedy/musical revue, directed by Seinfeld's Jason Alexander, now playing to sold out houses at the Greenway Court Theatre in Los Angeles. The premise of the show is that a nice Jewish boy has fallen in love with a Catholic girl and wants his Rabbi to teach her to be a Jew. The rabbi sums the problem up with 'This is why Oy rhymes with Goy!' And the one-liners continue from there.

Vanessa Claire Stewart's world premiere homage to silent screen legend Buster Keaton Stoneface succeeds on many levels, first and foremost of which is its brilliant recreation of silent movies by cast and crew. The execution of gags and physical comedy is tough to pull off; here its click by click precision timing almost defies description.
Actors Temple Announces 11/20 Benefit

The Best of Broadway & Cabaret will come out in support of the Actors Temple, (est. 1917) on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 7 PM. This theater district historic landmark (339 West 47th Street) has fallen on hard times in recent years & is in dire need of help.
