With a new program of innovative and edgy repertoire, Rebeca Tomas will bring her A Palo Seco Flamenco Company back to Theatre 80 Saint Marks May 17 to 19 in a new production, 'Cinco Por Cinco.' Tomas, a fierce and feminine NY-based Flamenco artist, will direct her company of five dancers, two singers and three musicians in a show that promises to be true to her vision of upholding Flamenco's traditions while also pushing its boundaries and giving it a distinctive New York City feel.

Singer/performer Blake Whyte makes an auspicious debut with his invigorating album 'More Like Myself'. With a pop/soul sound that crackles with energy, Whyte evokes a range of artists, from George Michael to Jason Mraz to Maroon 5 to Elton John. The album will be feted with a CD release event at Alvin Ailey in New York City, on April 7th (details below).

Two-time Tony Nominee Christine Andreas, Tony Nominee Emily Skinner, Drama Desk Nominees Kerry O'Malley and Jeffry Denman, and two-time Nightlife Award Winner Scott Coulter starred in The Broadway Musicals of 1961 at Town Hall last night, March 11th. The critically-acclaimed new Broadway by the Year Chorus joined them in performing songs from Carnival, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Subways Are For Sleeping, Sail Away, Milk and Honey, and more! So Polite, the debut EP from UK-based composer and songwriter Sasha Siem is out now on Gearbox Records. The EP will be available as a special edition vinyl and will be distributed widely via AWAL. In conjunction with the release, Siem recently appeared London at the Royal Opera House and New York City at Le Poisson Rouge on March 2. Her upcoming full length album "Most Of The Boys" is due this summer with production duties handled in Iceland by Valgeir Sigurðsson.

To mark 20 years of live music at Manhattan's SideWalk Cafe, the East Village landmark will present SideWalk LIVE, 20th Anniversary, a year-long celebration of special initiatives. Known worldwide as an incubator of dynamic new performers, the SideWalk will kick off the festivities with the Winter 2013 edition of the biannual Antifolk Festival, Feb. 19 to 28. SideWalk LIVE, 20th Anniversary will include a series of panel discussions by SideWalk artists, record releases, an online photographic retrospective, anniversary oriented food and beverage offerings, the introduction of new musical programming, performances by notable SideWalk alumni and the Summer Antifolk Festival.

Warner Bros. Records is pleased to announce that it has signed Australian rock sensations The Rubens to its roster. The band - which is brothers Sam Margin (vocals/guitar), Elliott Margin (keyboards), and Zaac Margin (guitar), plus their longtime friend Scott Baldwin (drums) - hail from the tiny rural town of Menangle in New South Wales (pop. 327) and have been on a whirlwind journey since forming in 2011. They have gone from being total unknowns to enjoying strong support from Australia's influential radio station Triple J and playing the main stage at one of Australia's biggest music festivals, Splendour in the Grass, alongside Jack White and Bloc Party. The Rubens also opened for The Black Keys in New Zealand and have been selected to support Bruce Springsteen during his tour of Australia this March.

The Jewish Museum and the Film Society of Lincoln Center will present the 22nd annual New York Jewish Film Festival at the Film Society's Walter Reade Theater, Jan. 9-24, 2013. The festival's 45 features and shorts from 9 countries - 23 screening in their world, U.S. or New York premieres - provide a diverse global perspective on the Jewish experience. Many film screenings will be followed by filmmakers and special guests in onstage discussions.

WFUV will give thanks musically this holiday season with two days of concert broadcasts from venues as small as Electric Lady Studios and The Living Room and as large as music festivals like Newport Folk and SXSW, starting on Thursday, November 22nd from 10 AM-Midnight and continuing Friday, November 23rd from 10 AM-2 PM. The first day of the annual Thanksgiving Feastival brings listeners performances by the likes of Dawes, Calexico, Regina Spektor and Wilco as well as a broadcast of the Arlo Guthrie classic "Alice's Restaurant" at noon. VH1 has announced that it has selected rock and soul phenomenon Gary Clark Jr. as its official 'You Oughta Know' Artist for the month of November.

The Town Hall's Eighth Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival concludes with The Best of Broadway By The Year on Friday October 26th at 8pm. The festival kicked off with Linda Eder's, Linda Eder, A New Life on Saturday October 13 and continued with Broadway Originals! on Sunday October 21st. The festival is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel.

They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

Regina Spektor, the singer/songwriter/prodigious pianist who sells out halls like Radio City in New York, the Royal Albert in London and the Sydney Opera House in Australia at the drop of her stylish hat, will perform at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts at UConn tonight, October 6, at 8 pm.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director William Russo have announced that tickets are on sale for A Civil War Christmas, written by Paula Vogel and directed by Tina Landau. Performances of this holiday-themed work begin Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at 7pm at NYTW, 79 East 4 Street, between Bowery and Second Avenue. Opening night is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4 at 7pm. A Civil War Christmas is scheduled to run through Sunday, December 30.
