MTV announced the categories and nominees for the '2013 MTV Movie Awards', honoring the actors and films that enthralled and electrified audiences this year. Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain were among the Broadway stars who received nods for their big screen performances.
In celebration of the forthcoming summer blockbuster movie season, MTV today unveiled a six week slate of movie and film themed programming that will culminate with the 2013 MTV MOVIE AWARDS starring Rebel Wilson as host airing live on Sunday, April 14 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Sony Pictures Studios Lot in Culver City, CA.

This special theatrical event will be hosted by cinemas across the country today, January 6th, the same night as the film's red carpet premiere. Fans all over the U.S. will be virtually united and given the unique chance to see the high school comedy in theaters before its January 11th release date.
