The Park Avenue Armory has reinvented itself into a visionary multimedia arts institution renowned worldwide. From the sublime installation of Ryoji Ikeda to the epic productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Armory transcends both artists' and audiences' experiences and expectations. For the first time on film, WNET takes public television viewers inside this American landmark to discover its storied past and revolutionary future.

This spring, Park Avenue Armory and Creative Time will join forces with artist Tom Sachs to launch the next flight of his SPACE PROGRAM with an unprecedented four-week mission to Mars, all within Park Avenue Armory's soaring 55,000-square-foot drill hall.

To culminate its first full season of cultural programming, Park Avenue Armory will present three epic dance programs in November and December 2011, including the final performance of the legendary Merce Cunningham Dance Company on New Year's Eve.

Eight hundred young people aged between 8 and 14 from underserved communities from New York will get the opportunity to experience Shakespeare by attending the Royal Shakespeare Company's Young People's Shakespeare productions of Hamlet and The Comedy of Errors at Park Avenue Armory.

This July and August, Lincoln Center Festival and Park Avenue Armory, in association with The Ohio State University, will bring the acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company to New York for an unprecedented six-week residency. For the first time in its history of visiting the United States, the RSC will perform five of Shakespeare's plays-As You Like It, Julius Caesar, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, and The Winter's Tale-in repertory for 44 performances with a cast whose members will have worked together for three intense years with RSC Artistic Director Michael Boyd by the time they arrive in New York.
