Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) presents its annual Spring Concert on Saturday, May 19 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday, May 20 at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at Franklin's Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, 224 Oak Street. The four Spring Concert performances feature FSPA students in all levels and disciplines of dance and musical theater, as well as the FSPA Youth Choir, performing troupes, dance ensembles, Groovemasters percussion ensemble, Jazz Krewe, and the international touring ensemble Electric Youth.

Broadway Bound, Broadway Light and the CenterStage dance company will entertain large Disney audiences and have the opportunity to take master classes with Disney performers and directors. FSPA will feature these troupes on Saturday, April 7 in a Disney Showcase, to be performed at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin Lodge of Elks, 1077 Pond Street. Ticket proceeds will help defray travel and workshop expenses for the Disney-bound performers.

Programs of the Franklin School for the Performing Arts were introduced recently in Asia when FSPA Director Raye Lynn Mercer, with Assistant Directors Kim Rezendes and Hallie Wetzell, traveled to Hong Kong December 28 - January 10. The trio taught musical theater workshops to students ages 4 - 20 and adjudicated the "Hong Kong's Broadway Star" competition in which the winner of the senior division, Viveca Chow, was awarded an all-expense paid trip and scholarship to study this summer at FSPA.
