TROUBLE IN MIND Plays Aurora Theatre Company Thru 9/26

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 19th season with Alice Childress' vibrant, humorous, and heartbreaking look at racism through the lens of the theater, TROUBLE IN MIND. Robin Stanton (Speech & Debate, Betrayed, Permanent Collection) directs this play about race, identity, and opportunity, featuring Bay Area favorite Margo Hall in her Aurora Theatre Company debut, along with Tim Kniffin, Rhonnie Washington, Elizabeth Carter, Michael Ray Wisely, Earll Kingston, Patrick Russell, Jon Gentry, and Melissa Quine. Aurora Extends TROUBLE IN MIND, Through 10/3

Critics and audiences alike all seem to have TROUBLE IN MIND. Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will add an additional six performances of its current hit production of TROUBLE IN MIND, Alice Childress' vibrant, humorous, and heartbreaking look at racism through the lens of the theater. Nimoy, Ellenstein & Culture Clash to Receive Honors at Company of Angels Gala, 10/17

Company of Angels, Los Angeles' oldest non-profit professional theatre company, will bestow honors upon actors Leonard Nimoy, Robert Ellenstein, and performance duo Culture Clash, during its 50th anniversary Charity Gala and Award Ceremony. The soiree will be held at The Alexandria Hotel on Saturday, October 17.

AlterTheater Ensemble Announces Casting for 'The Horses'

As part of its new season, AlterTheater Ensemble, an artist-driven company known for performing deeply intimate theater in downtown San Rafael storefronts, will produce its first play developed entirely from within, and starring Anne Darragh, Will Marchetti, Frances Lee McCain, and Michael Ray Wisely. This is also the first play the company is producing under an Equity contract.

Shepard's Tooth of Crime Bites Into LaMaMa, Oct. 3

La MaMa ETC's famed 1983 rock 'n' roll production of Sam Shepard's play with music, The Tooth of Crime, will return to La MaMa ETC Annex in celebration of the theater's 45th anniversary
