Oscar-Winner Alexander Payne to Be Honored at Savannah Film Fest

The Savannah Film Festival, which runs from October 26 to November 2, is pleased to announce Alexander Payne's NEBRASKA as its official Opening Night selection. Academy Award-winner Payne will be presented with an “Outstanding Achievement in Cinema” award by the film's star, Academy Award-nominee—and 2006 Savannah Film Festival honoree—Bruce Dern.

Photo Flash: First Look at Primary Stages' HARBOR

Primary Stages, in association with Ted Snowdon, launches their 29th season with the New York premiere of Harbor at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters. Written by Tony-nominated Chad Beguelin (Elf, The Wedding Singer) and directed by Tony-nominated director Mark Lamos (Seascape, The Rivals, The Deep Blue Sea), the production features Erin Cummings (Starz's 'Spartacus: Blood and Sand', ABC's 'Pan Am,' CBS' 'Made In Jersey'), Randy Harrison (Showtime's 'Queer As Folk', Broadway's Wicked), Alexis Molnar (world premiere of Harbor at Westport Playhouse), and Paul Anthony Stewart (Broadway's Fiddler on the Roof, The People in the Picture). Martin Guigui to Helm CRAZY FOR THE BOYS Musical Dramedy Film

Teen pop impresario and songwriter Brian Lukow has concluded an agreement for independent film director Martin Guigui to helm the feature film Crazy For The Boys, a musical dramedy which was written by Lukow, and is aimed at the burgeoning, lucrative tween and teen audience. Based on the fictional back story of the five-member girl group Drama Drama, the film will be produced by Michael Z. Gordon, a BMI Award-winning songwriter who founded surf-sound pop groups The Marketts and The Routers, and whose film and television composing credits include Pulp Fiction, Everybody Loves Raymond and Ally McBeal.

John Murlowski to Helm Cartel Pictures' CRIMES OF MIND

John Murlowski will direct the upcoming film 'Crimes of Mind' for Cartel Pictures and Odyssey Media, Inc. as part oftheir multi-picture deal. Film is being produced by Cartel Pictures' Stan Spry and Eric Woods and Odyssey Media Inc.'s Kirk Shaw and Devi Singh.

WHV Press Releases Classic and Contemporary Gangster Films on Blu-ray

As part of the studio's 90th Anniversary celebration, eight of Warner Bros. Pictures' greatest gangster films - from Edward G. Robinson's 1931 classic Little Caesar to Martin Scorsese's Oscar-winning masterpiece The Departed[1] -- will now be available in two Blu-ray sets May 21. Released to coincide with Father's Day gift-giving, the WB genre greats, along with one of Paramount's best gangster films, will be offered in the Ultimate Gangster Collection: Classic and Ultimate Gangster Collection: Contemporary.

The Place Beyond the Pines is the new movie from the director of Blue Valentine. Luke (Ryan Gosling) is a motorcycle performer. While passing through Schenectady, NY, he learns that a former lover, Romina (Eva Mendes), has given birth to their son Jason. Luke decides to give up life on the road to try and provide for his newfound family. His employer Robin (Ben Mendelsohn) proposes to partner in a string of bank robberies - which will place Luke on the radar of ambitious rookie cop Avery Cross (Bradley Cooper). Avery, who has to navigate a police department ruled by corrupt detective Deluca (Ray Liotta), is also struggling to balance life with his wife Jennifer (Rose Byrne) and their infant son AJ. The consequences of Avery's confrontation with Luke reverberate into the next generation, when the two sons, Jason (Dane DeHaan) and AJ (Emory Cohen), must face their fateful, shared legacy.

Bruce Willis Confirmed for SIN CITY Sequel

In a recent interview with MTV, director Robert Rodriguez confirmed that Bruce Willis will return to star in the upcoming SIN CITY sequel, 'A Dame to Kill For.' The actor will join previously announced returning cast members Mickey Rourke as 'Marv,' Jessica Alba as 'Nancy,' Rosario Dawson as 'Gail' and Jaime King as 'Goldie/Wendy'.
