NYC Parks and the Randall's Island Park Alliance (RIPA) today announced the launch of the East Harlem Esplanade Project. In support of NYC Parks' Community Parks Initiative (CPI), through the East Harlem Esplanade Project, RIPA will facilitate the creation of a strategic plan to guide reconstruction advocacy, stewardship and programming best practices for an improved Esplanade along East Harlem, including a span from E. 96 to E. 125 streets. The East Harlem Esplanade Project is supported by New York City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, New York State Senator Jose M. Serrano, New York State Assembly Member Robert Rodriguez, and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer.

Just in time for the holiday season, Wreath Interpretations celebrates its 33rd anniversary with more wreaths than ever before. A holiday custom at the Arsenal Gallery in Central Park, this show puts an imaginative spin on the traditional symbol that has roots in antiquity. The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, December 4, 2015 and remains on display through January 7, 2016. An opening ceremony will be held in the gallery on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Headlining the event are six-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt of Jamaica in the men's 200m, competing in New York City for the first time since 2008; U.S. Olympic gold medalist Jenn Suhr in the women's pole vault, who also holds 15 national titles; and Olympic gold medalist and world record-holderDavid Rudisha of Kenya in the men's 800m.

NEW YORK, NY - The next exhibition in the acclaimed Quin Arts series, an increasingly popular program curated by DK Johnston of The Arts Fund and presented at the Quin hotel on 57th Street and Sixth Avenue, is titled 'Figurative Destruction,' featuring the work of renowned German artist Wulf Treu. On view to the public from May 15 through June 15, the exhibition launches with an artist salon hosted by Wulf Treu on May 14, coinciding with the Frieze New York Art Fair on Randall's Island. Figurative Destruction features dramatic large format oil paintings on canvas, mixed media works on wood, and a video art wall installation highlighting the artist's neon works. For the first time, Treu will also present studies on paper from his body of work in sculpture, painting, and mixed media. These studies will be grouped into five stories, each containing four original oil, pastel, pencil and watercolor works, affording collectors and guests a special opportunity to acquire Treu's work at an unprecedented price point. Framed with offset primary colors, each piece is signed, dated and embossed by the artist.
