Theatre Philadelphia, the region's marketing and leadership organization for theatre, has announced the 2017 nominees for the Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theatre.

Philly's favorite musical theater star Jeff Coon is bringing his Summer Club to Manayunk's Venice Island Performing Arts Center for a series of swinging shows throughout 2017.

THE CAROLS, the latest show onstage at 1812 Productions, is a delightful show that takes audiences back to the year 1944 in a small New Jersey town. Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, wrote and directed this original play that is a heartfelt reminder of the importance of family and kindness. This production is an emotional and heartwarming story, and the writing and performances are full of warmth and sentiment. THE CAROLS at 1812 Productions is witty and truly a delightful production.

11th Hour Theatre Company finishes 2016 with a brand-new series. The company is introducing The Spotlight Series, a cabaret series designed to put Philadelphia's favorite musical theatre performers front and center. Each show is one night only. All shows are upstairs at World Cafe Live Philadelphia, 3025 Walnut Street. Tickets cost $40. 1812 Productions continues its 20th anniversary season with The Carols, an original musical set in the small town of Picatinny, NJ during World War II. It's Christmastime in 1943 and the local VFW is empty. The community waits for their loved ones to return from foreign battlefields and no one is particularly interested in the Hall's annual performance of A Christmas Carol.

Theatre Philadelphia has announced the nominees for the 2016 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre.

Arden Theatre Company announces Cabaret of Duets, a performance for Arden Drama School teens and local professional actors, on Monday, December 14 at 8pm. The performance takes place at the Arden's Hamilton Family Art Center at 62 N. 2nd Street in Old City, Philadelphia.

This evening, in a celebration attended by almost 750 theatre artists, staff, critics, and friends, Theatre Philadelphia distributed 26 awards at the 2015 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre - now in its second successful season since relaunching in fall 2013. The Awards Ceremony was held at the Merriam Theater, followed by an After-Party at Dorrance Hamilton Hall at the University of the Arts. A full list of award recipients is below.
