Riverside Theatre's Mainstage Season to Conclude with GREASE, 4/11-5/4

Riverside Theatre's Simply Amazing Season concludes with the effervescent musical comedy Grease on the Stark Stage. Written by composer, lyricist and librettists Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey, Grease takes the stage from April 11 through May 4, 2013 and is sponsored by Wells Fargo Advisors and Riverside Theatre's Patron Producers group.

11th Hour Theatre Company's Philly Rocks Returns 2/25

Sold out for the past seven years, 11th Hour Theatre Company's Philly Rocks has become one of the can't miss events of the Philadelphia theater season. This exhilarating annual rock concert features top Philadelphia performers rocking out to some of the best songs ever written. This year's installment, Philly Rocks, Remixed on February 25 beginning at 6:00 PM at World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut Street) is sure to shake things up a bit. Audiences will hear some of their favorite songs as they might have never heard them before. Hosted by Jess Conda, participants this year will be Alex Bechtel, Melissa Bird, Rachel Camp, Laura Catlaw, Colleen Hazlet,Marissa K. Hines, Alex Keiper, Mikey Jr., Craig O'Brien, Megan Nicole O'Brien, Michael Philip O'Brien, and Steve Pacek.

11th Hour Theatre Company Begins WINTER WONDERETTES Performances Friday

11th Hour Theatre Company opens its Mainstage season with the Philadelphia area premiere Roger Bean's Winter Wonderettes. In this sequel to 11th Hour's summer smash hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes, four best friends set out to spread a little Christmas cheer at Mr. Harper's annual holiday party. This show features some of the most popular pop holiday songs of all time. The show will run at the brand new Theatre Horizon, 401 Dekalb Street, Norristown. It begins previews on Friday, December 7, opens Monday, December 10 at 7 p.m. and closes Sunday, December 30. Tickets cost $15-$31. Discount tickets are available for students. Walnut Street Theatre concludes its landmark 203rd season with an all-new production of Broadway's BUDDY: THE Buddy Holly STORY. Directed and choreographed by Casey Hushion, the show opens tonight, May 23rd, and runs through July 15th on the WST Mainstage. Christopher Sutton (Buddy), says this is the first time in the history of the Walnut Street Theatre that the same actor has played the same role twice. Sutton plays opposite his wife Lyn Philistine as Maria Elena. See photos of the couple and the rest of the cast on stage below!

Flashpoint Theatre Company is closing its season with the World Premiere of Jacqueline Pardue Goldfinger's Slip/Shot. Goldfinger has emerged as a playwright in the region, with her World Premieres of the terrible girls (Azuka Theatre, 2010) and Hershel & The Hanukkah Goblins (Gas & Electric Arts, 2011). Slip/Shot will run from April 11 to May 5 at the Adrienne's Second Stage, located at 2030 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA.
