Martin Scorsese, Bruce Springsteen, Oprah Winfrey, Ava Duvernay to Headline Netflix's Fysee Showcase

Netflix announced today that iconic filmmaker, Martin Scorsese, legendary musician Bruce Springsteen, media mogul Oprah Winfrey and groundbreaking filmmaker Ava DuVernay will headline the opening and closing week events in its third-annual FYSEE experience at Raleigh Studios, May 5 - June 9. Oscar®- and Emmy®-winning director Scorsese (The Irishman) and Grammy- and Tony Award®- winning musician Springsteen (Springsteen on Broadway) will appear together for an unforgettable opening night on Sunday, May 5. Closing the star-studded Emmy® FYSEE showcase on Sunday, June 9 will be a special conversation, hosted by multiple Emmy®-winner, Winfrey, with Emmy®-winner, Ava DuVernay, the cast of their new limited event series, When They See Us, and the real-life men the series is based on - debuting May 31 on Netflix.

BMI Announces Top Honors For 35th Annual Film, TV & Visual Media Awards

 BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) is proud to announce that film composer and celebrated jazz musician Terence Blanchard will be named a BMI Icon at the 35th annual BMI Film, TV & Visual Media Awards in recognition of his significant contributions to the cinematic community.  The ceremony will also honor award-winning composer, arranger, orchestrator and conductor William Ross with the BMI Classic Contribution Award, and salute the top performing composers in film, TV and visual media of the past year. Hosted by BMI President and CEO Mike O'Neill and BMI Vice President Creative - Film, TV & Visual Media Doreen Ringer-Ross, the private event will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

Mondavi Center Announces 2019-20 Season

The Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts, UC Davis announces its 18th season of performing arts, filled with the leading artists in music, dance and theater alongside an insightful group of speakers. The five-night concert series, conceived and directed by Steve McQueen with a creative team led by Quincy Jones and Maureen Mahon, celebrates the unrivaled impact of African American music on contemporary culture with performances by a new generation of artists. French singer ZAZ recently released hew new album, Effet Miroir [translation: Mirror Effect], comprised entirely of original songs. Effet Miroir combines elements of chanson, South American guitars, pop, salsa and rock. It's an album of hope that is testament to the beliefs of ZAZ, an internationally celebrated artist. On Effet Miroir, ZAZ hopes listeners can find and recognize themselves: 'To accept all our facets with their paradoxes is for me, a way to unite the polarities of our being" ZAZ says. The album serves as an illustration of several faces and genres, just like the diversity of humanity that she had the opportunity to observe and appreciate for several years on the road, in concert or elsewhere.
